Yep, that's exactly what I'm hoping for. With so much people on this board we can come pretty close to a "definitive" picture for each song I guess. Any suggestions for another topic name? René

Not really, it's more a focus on the recording date/place, who's playing, lyrics and the first release of the song. I thought it would be nice to discuss this and come to a "definitive" picture for each song. My plan is to post a song every week. Maybe another topic name? René

527. Live Bang
If there will be a live CD from the A Bigger Bang tour, I think the following tracklist will be the one to keep the release interesting for the hard-core fans as well as the big CD buying audience: The Rolling Stones - Live Bang 1. Jumpin’ Jack Flash (last official live release: Flashpoint (1991) 2. Rough Justice (no official live release, live debut: 2005) 3. She Was Hot

Some explanation: 1. Gimme Shelter - best song ever made 2. Jumpin' Jack Flash - best rock song ever made 3. Brown Sugar - second best rock song ever made 4. Street Fighting Man & 5. Sympathy For The Devil - imagine it's 1968 and you hear those two song for the first time. Must be mindblowing. Unfortunately I'm from 1971. 6. Sway - Taylor! Especially the fade in the s

Is Keith doing the lead vocals on this one, or is it just a All Stars performance with thousands of musicians on stage (wich is usual for All Stars performances).

The worst Stones show ever must be one from the Voodoo Lounge World Tour. Their worst tour ever. Listen for example to the Live Voodoo Lounge tour souvenir video from the Giants Stadium, New Jersey. Songs played too slow and without any "edge". Horrible (just as the album with the same name). From the '89 - '06 area the Licks tour (for example) is much better. René

Well, it seems that Start Me Up is the Hampton '81 version. Brown Sugar seems to be the Paris '76 or the Hampton '81 version. More thoughts? René

On Video Rewind you can find live versions of Brown Sugar & Start Me Up. According to Nico Zentgraf's Complete Works website the Brown Sugar images are a mix from 1972/76/81 and the Start Me Up images are a mix from Hampton 81 and Leeds 82. Now my question is: What are the audio sources of those live versions? Thanx! René
