Quotenightskyman QuoteVirtual_Nobody Pity Brian and Bill are photoshopped out of the band and it's memory. No, not true at all. I do not understand why some on board here think this. A lot of people believe this. I don't see it at all. Although I love Brian Jones and I found him to be the most fascinating Stone, and to me the Brian Jones era is my favorite era of their music, I do

I just saw this posted by Andrew Loog Oldham's Facebook page. It's quite an interesting story, most of which I knew already. Has an interesting interview with Mick about the song and how Merry Clayton's background vocals came about. Also is an isolated track of part of her vocal performance. If this has been posted already, I apologize.

Is there a site that gives the Stones peak chart positions of singles and albums spanning their careers from countries all over the world? I heard "Satisfaction" went to #1 in over 30 different countries in 1965. Is there any way of finding out? America and the U.K. are easy to find out.

Ladies and gentlemen...the Rolling Stones! This is the definitive, authorized illustrated history of the world's greatest rock 'n' roll band. The kind of fame and success the Rolling Stones have achieved in their 50-year career is completely without parallel; their most famous riffs and catchiest lyrics are indelibly engraved in our collective memory. With their bluesy rock 'n

Can anyone on here upload the file that was on here a while back of all old vintage Stones articles from the Sixties. There were hundreds of them from NME, Record Mirror, Melody Maker, Disc, etc. I can't find the link on more where they appeared. It would be appreciated. Rob

Even if Brian did purchase this art work with the tongue logo on it, there is no proof that he Mick ever saw it. From what I understand the author of the new book is claiming Keith actually learned the Open-G tuning from Brian as well. All these years Keith has been telling people he learned it from Ry Cooder or Gram Parsons (I can't remember offhand) is just the band playing down Brian&

Quotestonehearted Beatles versus Stones? You've got to admit that Andrew Loog Oldham had a shrewd marketing plan. And it worked. People are still fighting over the imaginary battle lines drawn by ALO to this day. Andrew Oldham claims in an interview from 2012 that he had nothing to do with promoting the Stones as an anti-Beatles. Personally I believe him. I think it was just an assumpt

The Bigger Bang album wasn't bad. One thing I liked about the album was that it was the first album the Stones made, probably since Beggar's Banquet, where they didn't use a lot of guest musicians. With the exception of a keyboard player it was practically just them on the album. There was no Bernard Fowler or Lisa Fisher or any horn section, etc. Rob

A friend of mine sent me a link to Yusef Lateef's obituary in the New York Times. He told me that he think he remembered reading somewhere a long time ago that Brian Jones was a great admirer of Yusef Lateef's. Has any poster on this site ever read an interview that Brian did where he talks about this guy? It certainly wouldn't surprise me if Brian Jones was into him. While I was r

His Studio Is in Disrepair, but His Passion for Music Is Intact By DAVID GONZALEZ David Gonzalez/The New York Times The first time Raul Gonzalez and his bandmates in Barra Libre sat down to discuss recording with Giorgio Gomelsky, they spent hours talking – about everything but music. He told them – as he has everyone from the Rolling Stones to Jeff Buckley – that they had to be sure they

I just seen this on YouTube. It's pretty interesting and mentions the Stones and Beatles quite a lot. I didn't know that Eric Easton worked for Vox (assuming this is accurate). Surprisingly they didn't mention anything about Bill Wyman passing his audition for the Stones because he used a Vox AC30 Amp, which is talked about a lot in the documentary. Part 1 Part 2

Allen Klein. It's an inside thing with ABKCO that's why it didn't appear on Stones records until years later when they remastered the collection for CD in the 80s. A friend of mine asked Klein about it. Robyn Marie (I think) Klein is his daughter and it has to do with her astrological sign or something like that.
