Last time I saw Clapton was about 10 years ago. And it was absolutely terrific. But I heard after the concert from some friends, who also were there "it was such a drag, he didn't say anything to the audience at all, he just looked bitter".... Why go a concert with EC if you want to be "entertained" , you should rather go to a tivoli. EC is a musician, I only care abou

Nothing can beat the 1968-1972 openers, so apart from them my favourites are Dance part 1 and Hot Stuff. One Hit is also surprisingly good.

I know somebody who got covid recently, and despite the vaccine, she got quite ill for a week, then it got better, for a couple of days, and then even more sick than previously. I wouldn't be surprised if even Hyde Park has to be rescheduled, but let's hope not. I'm somewhat safe with my ticket in late July though.

QuotePlink QuoteDan Were they really playing it live or was it the studio version blasting out the PA? Interesting question - have they been known to play their old recordings over the venue's PA while rehearsing onstage? Here is the video of MLH uploaded May 28 (you may need to be an Instagram member to view/hear it) It's live - not the studio version. Mick counts it in. Also

Quoteretired_dog Naaah, for me nothing beats the 1969 studio version with Merry Clayton and the 1972/73 live versions with Mick Taylor - those were the "dangerous" Stones, goosebumps all the way! Agree that the '95 B-Side is also great (and the version on "No Security", too), but Lisa increasingly tended to overdo her performance what sometimes turned this song into muzak

QuoteBig Al Goin’ Home is fine for the first few minutes, but becomes a boring dirge thereafter. I’m not sure what they were thinking, regarding it’s ludicrous running-time. Were they trying to ape Dylan, who’d had a lengthy closer on Highway 61 Revisited? Or Blonde On Blonde? Obviously not, with such lyrics! Can't remember which RS member who said it in an interview, but the producer/e

Come On is one of the songs I'd want them the least to do on any tour, no matter which decade. Others would be My Girl, Grown Up Wrong, Gotta Get Away and so on. Even studio versions of these, I'd rather not listen to

QuoteNasty Habits QuotePlink Great posters, Nasty Habits . Thanks for sharing. Both are clever in concept, visually cool and professionally-executed. Bravado should hire you. The Hyde Park is my fave - imo, it's on par with your fab Heinz poster. That central tube station design is just brilliant and would look fantastic by itself on a white tee - now I want one! Thank you for your kind

It sounded great in the 60s, and actually in 1981, as well. But I a live version now....eh, that would be difficult. A while ago (last year?), there was a thread here where many people wished for "Let It Loose" and that they had always wanted to hear it live. That number surely wouldn't work in concert now, and maybe not ever, but in "Let It Loose"'s case, it's

Quotefranzk Although I don't mind SFM as an opener I think it was used too often since 2018. Why not try something different? SFTD was great in 2017 and LSTNT also worked well in LA. Maybe they should try open with one of these: [...] Rocks Off Maybe not the best idea for an opener.... Yesterday's version I didn't recognize before Mick Jagger started singing.

My only complaint with this release, is that I don't see much reason for listening to my bootlegs and downloads of any 1976 show any longer ! With a couple of exceptions, classics like Tumbling Dice, there's so many numbers on this release that the "definite" version, even when including the studio recordings. Let's Spend The Night Together and Hot Stuff for instanc

QuotePatrickS77 QuoteNashvilleBlues Quotesf37 Personally I enjoy "Miss You", but if it ever were to be dropped from the setlist, I would suggest "Emotional Rescue" as the near-perfect replacement. It's hardly ever been played live (so one can't say they are becoming bored with it), yet it carries that very similar Stonesey-disco vibe that may otherwise be lost from t

Ever since 2012 I think some of the songs they handle best now, are the 1965-1967 material, this last Out Of Time performance is just another example. They could go further and bring out All Sold Out for instance, together with the existing ones, as well as Mothers Little Helper.

Yes, Out Of Time was great yesterday, one could hear that despite the poor online video-quality. Seems like they often get new energy when playing the rarely or never performed songs. I even liked Sad Sad Sad, allthough it's never been a favourite of mine.
