In my opinion there are no objective reviews either. Obviously in other sectors yes, doctors are not objective, they give a scientific opinion, which is a very different thing. This doesn't exist in music, it's based on sensations, listening, etc. but then there is the musical sensitivity of the listener not to mention the context. Some songs and albums to which we are linked find expla

Quotebuffalo7478 Great setlist. But wildly uneven performance, IMO. A few songs are bad (Live With Me, Neighbors). Dance Part 1 should be embarrassing to Keith and Ronnie - they never find even a little groove, not even a little funk. But then they rally and do a great version of CYHMK. Not enough rehearsal time? Too intoxicated? Keith and Ronnie posing vs playing? RS have always been like th

The Stones will never make an album that everyone agrees on, because they have gone through so many different generations, different musical sensibilities, etc. So for me the album is a small masterpiece, for some it's mediocre, for others it's bad... let's move on it's only rock n roll (but a like it)!

Mick is Mick the rock star, if he weren't like that he wouldn't be Mick! His detachment from the fans makes him an idol.

I don't remember all this controversy about the sound of EOMS which already had a confused sound at the time. The Stones made few albums with a clean sound, maybe they don't like it.

QuoteBastion Quotededospegajosos QuoteGasLightStreet Quoteohmercy61 Hackney is by far my most favorite album since some girls I freaking love this album. It's amazing, given how long it's been since A BIGGER BANG, that we got HACKNEY DIAMONDS. What's way better is... it's awesome! Aside from what they were going for with UNDERCOVER, it's their most solid album si

I think that just comparing two musicians makes no sense. Charlie is Charlie with his unmistakable style, Steve is Steve with his style, the most hateful thing would be to see Steve imitate Charlie, no one would want that I hope...in fact I think they told him "play how you feel right to play". I've read crazy things, like the fact that Steve hits the drums hard, but you should k

Honestly... but what do you care about sales! It doesn't matter to me at all, if I like an album, I might even be the only one to have bought it and I'd be proud of it.

This is one of the songs I love most! Simply perfect, beautiful lyrics, beautiful Mick's voice, the riff, the solo. The Stones still manage to amaze me in 2023, this is fantastic!

I'm always skeptical when I read comparisons between musicians, I love Bill and Charlie but no comparisons. Darryl and Steve weren't hired to imitate Bill and Charlie, that would be pathetic, but to replace them and it's obviously something different. I agree that this song is fantastic and their musical contribution makes it superb, however I think for example that other songs s

Ronnie has had ups and downs and his sound has in the past been affected by his excesses of alcohol and drugs, however he has always managed to stay in the saddle, I believe he never missed a single concert. In my opinion he is good at doing his own things, some old songs like LB for example, he plays them fantastically, others from the Taylor era (not all) are not very in his style, but he alwa

Io has never compared Stones albums, especially when they belong to such different periods. Every album is different, I prefer some to others, but I usually listen to them based on my mood, I have to say that I'm really enjoying HD....incredible!

...Keith is still Keith but he sounds simpler due to his hand problems, Ronnie seems fit and has done great solos, Mick also seems in great shape and in this album I like the vocal diversification which keeps the album from becoming monotonous . Keith's song is amazing, beautiful lyrics too.

It's always nice to read the comments, Stones fans are so different from each other, perhaps due to the fact that there are many generations... I respect everyone's opinions, personally many albums from the past defined as "masterpieces", for me they are mediocre albums, as is EOMS mediocre, HD is superior in everything! I'm happy with this album, it's contemporary

Maybe I'm not normal, but I never gave a shit about the commercial success of the Stones, it never interested me in the past, even less today! If I like it, it's ok! Among other things, many users here, when they have to denigrate a Stones album, say that it is commercial (made for the masses), so it is strange to see these discussions here.

Quotekeefriffhards QuoteStonedRambler Quotebig4 All the people on here complaining about another album of Mick-written songs and Keith not very involved or involved enough, just getting one Keith ballad he sings and a rocker he doesn't. Are we talking about Goat's Head Soup or the yet-released Hackney Diamonds? Because everything y'all are saying just as easily applies to GHS. Al

Quotedoitywoik Hairball is making some valid points/observations above. Of course I don't have the LA prspective but much of this seems to me to cary over to Europe. In 1976 the Stones played in Munich in a hall with a seating capacity of maybe 12000-15000, the setlist was dominated by their recent albums, the Stones still had that bad boys vibe, paired with a bit of glamour, and people who

I'm happy for Mick, it's nice to see him with his extended family, he's a lucky guy or more simply I think he's a fantastic and generous person but it's nice to see them! I don't care how old everyone is and what clothes they're wearing, I don't care to count how much hair Mick has lost, I leave that to frivolous people and there's just too much for my

Quotepowerage78 Will the marketing and communications strategy of the Stones camp say, like The Sun, that the forthcoming album is the first since Blue & Lonesome (2016) to ease the long wait post A Bigger Bang 2005 ? So according to your reasoning the early Stones albums shouldn't count since they were mostly covers. Really ?

Ronnie has always loved playing and performing with different artists, always has and most guitarists love to play with Ronnie. This certainly allows him to stay trained ... then he likes it and I really don't think it's a question of money, many concerts have been done for charity.
