The problem with the Stones is that they don't rehearse much, when they played at the Fonda theater you could see that the band had rehearsed a lot, but they almost never do. Rehearsals are essential for any band, even if you have to rehearse songs you've been playing for years. Anyone who plays in a band gets together at least twice a week to rehearse. In the 70s and 80s they certai

I think he enjoys improvising, because he's tired of always doing the same solos, this also leads him to be more experimental, sometimes he does fantastic things, sometimes not, but that's also the beauty of it. Ok, he could study it by heart and redo it note for note, the errors would be much fewer, but he wouldn't be him anymore. Keith also improvises...

QuoteJalfstra I can't help feeling that this is just another way of taking the money out of the fans' pockets. Soon you will be able to buy canned farts from the band members. But if then again.. If it makes people happy to spend their hard-earned money on it, who am I? It's called the market and the Stones didn't invent it. People are then free to buy or not buy and

I find it hard to believe Ronnie …cant do this. I love his playing here and would just like to hear a little of this style from time to time. Because after playing it for the three hundredth time, it gets boring, so they try

QuoteTheflyingDutchman Ron Wood is one of the few musicians proving that life is unbearable without humour. His musical skills are a matter of taste. It's his essence... don't take yourself too seriously, it's no coincidence that history has it that he was the author together with Jagger of IORR, which is also the name of this site. I also like how he plays... I really like his

A few words about this tour, the band seems to really play well, especially the last concerts, for me the setlist is fine. SMU at the opening is fine, I think it doesn't hesitate to be a more suitable song, although I would like them to surprise us like they did in 94/95 with NFA, it was a welcome surprise and in my opinion it worked very well with all the stage effects of the time .

QuoteDoxa QuoteSwayed1967 Both Out Of Tears and Laugh are well-crafted ballads, that’s for sure. I almost wanna cry when I hear them. It’s disappointing when your favorite artist pours his heart out into a song – I mean it’s clear that Mick gave 150% for both Out Of Tears and Laugh – and yet the end result is a generic and underwhelming listening experience. Good songs that could’ve been wri

If you mean this Zemaitis, if I'm not mistaken Ronnie also played it on this tour on at least one song. However he rarely uses it... I love this guitar!

There have always been different schools of thought about live shows, for some it should be faithful to the live recording, for others it is more important that it conveys the live atmosphere, but not necessarily the rest, if the band makes a mistake in the concert it goes away, in a recording comes back every listen, which is annoying. At the time recording techniques were not like today, it wa

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteRisingStone QuoteTornAndFried The 3-song Keuth set kind of kills the momentum of the show, and most casual fans could do without it. This. ...It seems like a surreal discussion...but do you think Ronnie and the others don't know what key the songs are playing in? Really ? Those are the keys they use in concerts.

I would like to say something that may seem banal... but when the Stones get on stage they are real, authentic and above all they convey that sense of fun that other bands don't convey. They experience their mistakes and limits with fun and carefreeness. Many rock bands and artists should take them as an example.

I don't understand what's wrong with YGMR, I liked it straight away and I would have bet that it was the classic song to play at the stadium and so it was. It's not my favorite song to listen to at home, but it has a great impact live. Someone will wonder what it has to do with I Go Wild, nothing... but I read in many comments that it is brought up and I don't understand w

Quotepowerage78 QuoteBlueLands The band sounded on fire last night!! I loved the Ronnie solo in Dead Flowers, and despite the strange new coda at the end of Sweet Sounds, the song keeps getting stronger each time! Wow! Mick, perhaps just drop the coda altogether? It's such a great song. You're either not very demanding or you're very tolerant. To each his own I respect your

Quotejosepi Keyboard has been doing the main driving guitar riff in Whole Wide World. Watch the fingers, then listen to the pregnant pause at 1:29. Chuck (or Matt) didn't do the riff, but a guitar can clearly be heard playing the wrong chord(s). Other than that, I have no problem with keys lifting some of the weight. Stones sounding great on HD tour. The only problem here is gravity!>&l

Excellent live, I had the CD but it had a metallic sound, this is good! There's also that little masterpiece that is Breathe on Me...I think this is superior to a lot of things by the Stones or Bob Dylan, fantastic lyrics and great melody. Great Ronnie!!!

I think it is physiological that tours like those of that period with many dates, have some concerts and they are not sold out, especially because they were the first tours with quite expensive tickets. I remember many people who couldn't afford it, were outside the stadium hoping to find cheap unsold tickets.

I don't know, but I remember that the VLtour didn't have any dates in Italy, so I went to see them in Basel Switzerland, the first date was sold out, but I found tickets for the second date and it was the best Stones concert I've seen, with some songs they had never played live like shine a light and others. It was fantastic!!!
