QuoteStoneage "Absent and disinterested"? Maybe he didn't like working late night, early morning, shifts (Keith time)? Keith ran the show, Jagger showed up between his solo work. The Biff @#$%& trio ruled. Wyman wasn't part of that. There are people who work nights for a low salary, with the money that Bill earned with the Stones should have always been there! This is j

Quote24FPS QuoteDoxa QuoteVoodooLounge13 I must admit I often feel like they sometimes thought of ABB as the last album. From the title to the fact that it was the last world tour, and the way it was sooo different with the seats onstage and what not. It's as if they were trying to cash in one last time on it all..........go out with a bang. Looking back, I think it's one of their we

There's always a good side to not looking like a rock star... Joke aside it took some genuine courage from Bill to go score as the hotels the band members were staying at were crawling with plain-clothes cops, probably eager to add ano

The Stones have always played great gigs, alternating with mediocre gigs on all the tours they've done. Well! I have never seen a concert of the Stones before '89, but I know who has seen and followed them around the world since the 60s and has always confirmed this to me. But no one has ever come out of a Stones concert disappointed! This is their great strength! They best interpret

QuoteBlueranger And once again: They split the show up on 4 vinyls! It's pure money speculation! 23 songs on 4 LP’s!!! Garuanteed they claim it’s for “optimal sound quality” and their usual 180 gram virgin vinyl, etc. etc. Nonsense! There are records that approaches an entire hour on vinyl, which sounds excellent! Plus the cover is just so uninspired! I assure you this is not the case!

It is normal that Mick's voice has changed over time, but it is wrong to compare a studio recording with a live one, because in the studio Mick often records more than one voice, which are superimposed in this way it becomes much more snarling. However Mick still has a fantastic voice and at his age it's rare.

Quoteexilestones The first three albums (“The Rolling Stones”, “12×5”, and “Out Of Our Heads”) were originally recorded in the mono format, while the next six albums were recorded in true stereo. According to Mobile Fidelity Sounds Labs, “Hot Rocks” was a compilation of mono and stereo tracks that they “transferred from the original master tapes…carefully spliced together by MFSL’s engineers.” I

QuoteStoneage Firstly, I think it's pure arrogance to use words like pure ignorance. Secondly, of course one thing depends on the other. Like the butterfly effect - we do not live in a vacuum. Doesn't prove much. Thirdly, models are coat hangers by definition. Hard work has absolutely nothing to do with it. It is about looks. If you do not have the right look (or name) you won't

Quotedaspyknows Good for him, but would he be a model aside from his dad being Mick Jagger? Not the only one who used parental connections and nepotism to get ahead. Being the son of Mick Jagger certainly helps, but it often represents a problem, especially if you are good at what you do and want to be appreciated for your work and not because the son of ... Quoteyearsinthemaking I was listening to the Emotional Rescue album (quite underrated) and I was trying to remember what song was added when they decided at the last minute to leave off "Claudine"? I can remember some radio broadcast at the time saying that the Stones were worried about legal troubles from Claudine Longet but I don't recall the replacement song. My suspicion is

Today I found this CD, the Faces in this concert were on fire ... a Ronnie Wood like I've never heard. Really great and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't listened to it yet. It is an excellent quality bootleg with mixer sound. A taste to be listened to at full volume! video:

It is depressing to see controversy over this event for Charlie as well. We don't know if Taylor was invited, maybe for personal reasons he couldn't be there. I will be naive, but many here seem to be conspiracy theorists.

Quotegeorgie48 QuoteTestify There are great solos by Ronnie, however in the B&B the respective guitarists had already played on those songs, who by the way did a great job, so it wouldn't have made sense to do otherwise. Did the intense humidity play a role in the tuning? It happened to me with my guitar and it wasn't nice at all! However when you play underwater and in the cold strange things always happen it's really hard to be precise in those conditions and the Stones are not a precise band by nature.

I liked SSS, glad they played it is a song that I love. Listening again from the video posted above, it's not even that bad, some inaccuracies that the Stones usually do especially on songs that don't often play live, but all in all I liked it.

I wanted to take some time, before making a judgment, well I have to say I liked it a lot. The best things for me are: - Troubles A 'Comin - Shame Shame Shame - Drift Away (I've always loved this cover, which is superior to others versions, nice text). - Fiji Jim (fantastic song, great lyrics, fantastic guitars above all the slide Ronnie I guess ...) - It's a Lie -

QuoteMaindefender QuoteRobertJohnson I had the chance meanwhile to hear Wembley on a good sound system. The old Sam Wheat-disease: Mick upfront in a grotesque way. The guitars in the background. It is the same messed-up sound like on Miami. A great performance and a lousy sound. Is Bob Clearmountain too expansive for a deluxe-project? So they pay for an absolutely deaf man. We haven't had
