I don’t think of the releases prior to Satanic Majesties as proper LPs. Great songs certainly can be found on those releases. But they are more like vehicles for singles than anything else with obvious filler originals and perfunctory covers. In the late 1980s Rewind was a favourite amongst my friends and I as we navigated our high school years. It got plenty of play at parties or at the warm-ups for parties where we might have had to endure Tone Loc, Kool Mo Dee and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
