I like and admire Peter Wolf and have seen him both as a headliner and an opener in the last decade or so. Having said that, J Geils band simply doesn't have the songs to be considered America's Rolling Stones. Neither does Aerosmith, nor the Black Crowes. To be fair, the Rolling Stones have no parallel. The Faces might be their closest match and they do rock and I like them, ye

I couldn't limit a list to just one LP per artist. Not possible. In no particular order and off the top of my head: Stones - Exile, Tattoo You, Sticky Fingers Bob Dylan - New Morning, Infidels Neil Young - After the Goldrush, Tonight's the Night, Zuma Beatles - Let it Be (Naked) Steely Dan - Countdown to Ecstasy Lou Reed - Coney Island Baby, Legendary Hearts, New York Velve

QuoteBig Al Quotecrholmstrom Well at least in the short term, Dave can play drums if they want to honor their contracts. They have an abundance of guitar players in that band. Will be interesting to see how it plays out. However, the 'singing drummer', never looks quite 'right' to me. There's something almost comical about it. I'm thinking of the goofiness of Rin

Holy Man RIP. I'm not all that knowledgeable about the Foos, but I liked Hawkins and appreciated his enthusiasm and appreciation for Rush, Charlie etc. I was gifted a copy of Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson several years back and really enjoyed this track that Hawkins helped complete

Had a couple good nights in there a few years ago. I liked the club, good music, lots of partiers. I was disappointed that there wasn't more Stones music in the rotation. One of the nights I was there they played lots of funk, Bowie and even some Steely Dan but only a couple Stones numbers.

Side B of LZ IV is one of my all-time favourite album sides. Right up there with side A of Rise & Fall of Ziggy Stardust, side B of Countdown to Ecstasy and side B of Tattoo You.

Would Emotional Rescue or Undercover be considered for deluxe versions? Or IORR and Black & Blue, for that matter.

I think so. It's not the Stones without Charlie, IMO. They should bill themselves as Jagger/Richards if they want to go forward together. Jagger would have no difficulty putting together an all-star band to back him on a solo tour while Keith has the Winos if they both feel the need to perform.

Maybe dedicate every show of this tour t

Sirius did have a dedicated RS channel. At some point it went away. Possibly when it became SiriusXM? The Stones should have their own station. As should Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

Still not a word of these allegations in the New York Times, print or digital. The NY Times legal beat would likely know plenty about the two lawyers involved on behalf of the plaintiff and I'm guessing that based on the sordid pasts of both attorneys the editors are skeptical about what has been alleged. As suggested earlier, this was a very active and highly scrutinized period of Dyl

Heylin Weighs In “It’s not possible. Dylan was touring England during that time, and was in Los Angeles for two of those weeks, plus a day or two at Woodstock,” in upstate New York, Heylin told HuffPost. “The tour was 10 days, but Bob flew into London on April 26 and arrived back in New York on June 3.” “If Dylan was in New York in mid-April, it was for no more than a day or two,” he added.

The period in question is probably the most scrutinized of his career. Dozens of books and probably thousands of articles along with Pennebaker’s documentary. Kinda difficult to believe what is alleged could have slipped through the cracks either undetected or wilfully ignored by all those who were around the man at that very public time of his life. That, and at least one of the lawyers in

Not much of a fan, although I would never pass up the chance to hear "Locomotive Breath". I do 100% agree that Tull should be in a "R&R" Hall of Fame, if such a thing existed. The Hall of Fame located in Cleveland is a popular music HOF as far as I'm concerned as there is nothing R&R about some of the inductees.

Would they? Doubtful. Should they? No way. By today's standards the Stones weren't even old in '90 when Bill decided he had had enough, and although their best albums were behind them you could make the case that they were still in the prime of their live performance era. Nowadays, they are clearly past it on both fronts but that doesn't mean they can't provide
