The period in question is probably the most scrutinized of his career. Dozens of books and probably thousands of articles along with Pennebaker’s documentary. Kinda difficult to believe what is alleged could have slipped through the cracks either undetected or wilfully ignored by all those who were around the man at that very public time of his life. That, and at least one of the lawyers in

Not much of a fan, although I would never pass up the chance to hear "Locomotive Breath". I do 100% agree that Tull should be in a "R&R" Hall of Fame, if such a thing existed. The Hall of Fame located in Cleveland is a popular music HOF as far as I'm concerned as there is nothing R&R about some of the inductees.

Would they? Doubtful. Should they? No way. By today's standards the Stones weren't even old in '90 when Bill decided he had had enough, and although their best albums were behind them you could make the case that they were still in the prime of their live performance era. Nowadays, they are clearly past it on both fronts but that doesn't mean they can't provide

Often times I find a Dylan lyric comes to mind when digesting current events. Man thinks because he rules the earth he can do with it as he please And if things don’t change soon, he will Oh, man has invented his doom First step was touching the moon On January 6 it was: In the home of the brave, Jefferson turning over in his grave Regarding the Trump presidency it was: They sa

I have always referred to the Doors as the "gateway drug" that brought me into the classic rock sphere and got the ball rolling on my fandom of the Stones, Neil Young, Zeppelin, Dylan etc. Growing up in the late 70s and early 80s in Canada my first favourite bands as a kid were the Police and Journey. What did I know, other than what I was hearing on FM radio? My parents, while in

QuoteTopi Great run by my Habs. No shame in losing to the defending Champs. This Tampa team may have been the best of the salary cap era. LOL...no Salary Cap in the playoffs...the Bolts were $17 million over the "cap" in the post-season. They were the best at finding the loophole in the system and gaming it, that's for sure. Toronto tried something similar and failed miserab

79. Sway
Is there a version of Sway out there that has an extended outro? On the studio track it sounds like they faded out of an extended jam at the end. Really would like to hear that played out at least a couple more minutes.

Funny, but the few Yes fans I have come across also subscribe to the notion that the Stones are overrated because "they can't play their instruments". To me, it's always been about the songs. I am a huge Stones, Dylan, and Neil Young fan because they have each created and recorded hundreds of great songs. That Jeff Beck or Bill Bruford or Greg Lake could play their in

Growing up in Canada, I was exposed to Rush early and often. I'm not a huge fan of their earlier material, but I do like some of their songs from Permanent Waves on quite a bit. Jacob's Ladder, Entre Nous, Limelight, Red Barchetta, Subdivisions are among the tracks of theirs that I enjoy. I also greatly appreciate how well the three of them represented Canada. They are all good fa

Great set. A nice mix of originals, singles, album tracks and covers. Only regret for me is that I have to go elsewhere for the Beatles cover “I Need You” and the J.J. Cale cover “13 Days”. Both recordings surpass the originals, IMO, and would fit in great on this anthology.
