The intended Jeff Beck - Locomotive guest spot at the Paris 92 gig would have been killer to see. Pity Jeff had ear issues and had to pull out. Here’s a rehearsal with Beck minus you know who…..

Aside from the obvious, seeing Neil Young’s name on the bill for Willie Nelson’s 90th makes me hope I’ll see Neil & The Horse this year.

QuoteVoodooLounge13 I feel like it's been tried many times before but it just never really catches on with males or females. Hole, Belly, Elastica, L7, Veruca Salt, Sleator Kinney, Bikini Kill, Babes in Toyland, The Breeders, Shonen Knife, Bratmbile and another 20 bands rubbish that notion.

Though it’s a cover Not Fade Away, From Me to You is a little twee for me. I like the harmonica / guitar interaction on Not Fade Away, it’s simple but effective. This stones single makes me want to dance drunk more than the Beatles one!

QuoteCindyC This summer I saw Primal Scream in Dublin and it was such an awesome, fun show. They played Screamadelica live, and it was so great to start the show with Moving On Up which is one of my top 10 songs of all time. I was on the rail at the front and the crowd energy was amazing - everyone jumping and singing along to every song. People were fun, and cool, and not a$$holes. It w

Could we Have one thread for the singles comparisons? It’s a cool idea if the OP is up for it. Just one thread and announce each week or whatever what singles are up for talking about.

QuoteTaylor1 Oh my God.Please Please Me is one of the greatest songs ever with some of the greatest vocals. I Wanna be Your Man is crap It depends, Please Please Me is a great song, catchy as hell and close to perfect. I wanna be your man makes me want to do stuff other than just hum the tune, it’s got a different energy.

QuoteDGA35 Quotemosthigh Saw them in 2016, 2019, and 2022. 2016 was way more rocking, but the orchestra show I saw in 2019 was a close second in it's epic-ness (plus Eddie Vedder showed up). This year was also good, but they're just that much older now. Hey mosthigh, I saw 2016 and 2019 Vancouver shows, liked 2016 a lot more, not that 2019 was bad. Where did you see them in 2022? I&

One thing I would say re Vancouver and accommodation, it kinda doesn’t matter where you stay in the city. The skytrain and bus networks are insanely good, BC Place being one of the skytrain stops. It’s a very easy city to move around.

Quotegotdablouse Yeah I don't think UYI has aged that well, unlike Appetite. It's just lacking in memorable tracks and terribly bloated, a bit like Oasis's "Be Here Now". Stuff like "Get in the Ring" might have generated interest at the time but now it's embarrassing TBH and sums up all that had gone wrong with this band. The thing I always hold in mind w

QuoteUNCSTONE I should have known this topic would be on IORR…..I do frequently dream about The Rolling Stones - usually I’m at a small venue where they are playing and I’m at the front of the stage. Typically, I have interactions with the band in each dream. Last night I had a crazy dream where Mick was singing Stones deep tracks but with a completely different band….he asked me how I thought th

What made the Beatles great as a group goes for all great groups: they were greater than the sum of its parts. Lennon, Harrison, McCartney all wrote great stuff after the Beatles, but nothing really on the same level. Harrison maybe had the best of the solo albums early on. He was the only one who benefited artistically. John & Paul lost something. I’m watching Get Back again, a year late

Quotedcba QuoteGasLightStreet Matt Sorum is a fantastic rigid drummer - zero swing. And this is eactly the drummer Slash wanted : a hard-hitter who could play 3hrs gigs. Imo that was part of Slash's vision for the band after 1990 :turning it into a Led Zeppelin influenced act. An impressive singer (Plant ---> Axl Rose) a virtuoso guitarist (Page ---> Slash) and a powerhouse drumme

QuoteDonnebr Such a shame. That’s the music of my youth. Then a day later Duffy from Primal Scream (& Felt & the charlatans). Yeah, more sad news with Martin passing also. Primal Scream are unrivalled for me as the best band of my generation. So many styles and every song is meant. That’s Duffy & Throb both gone…
