I heard Smokestack Lightnin when I was a kid and when I eventually saw a picture of the guy who sang it, it was one of the very few times where what you see is what you imagined. A big barrel of a man who I was happy to learn had so many more great songs than that first one I heard. A one off.

Quotehockenheim95 QuoteSoulSurvivor1990 My wish is for them to do a ‘Back to Beginning’ type concert in Hyde Park. Broadcast it live to full arenas around the country. Have showings at MSG, the Hollywood Bowl, Red Rocks, Wembley etc. Full houses with huge screens. The biggest farewell for the biggest band. What a horrible scenario. I never would want such a show for the Stones. It wouldn't

Quoteumakmehrd Just got an email they are coming back to Vancouver this August - Love (oops loved) this band but come on enough is enough I'm betting they don't sell 30% of BC Place when tix go on sale. Please please please at least put out a new album before coming back.. Last time round they sold really badly. I picked up a ticket 3 rows from the front for $101 the day before the sh

Quoteumakmehrd will wait till concert day in Vancouver... hopefully pick up a couple cheapie's "I know it's only rock n roll" They ain’t bad at the minute, I got tickets for $108 each. In the rafter’s obviously but I went for the same section I was in last April, I had a sound tower pointed directly at me so the sound was good.. In a shed like BC Place I end up watching

QuoteRollingFreak I'm glad to see a lot more of The Bends in there for night 2! What an album. I’ve only seen Radiohead twice, the Bends tour & OK Computer tour. The 96 gig was killer, a little more than a year later they were almost a different band. It had all gotten serious somehow.

QuoteDGA35 I'll be getting tickets again for Vancouver. Middle of August, hope the roof is open at BC Place like it was for Stones last year! Looking at the dates, can still fit 2 more shows in after Vancouver if they wanted to. Dare we dream of a second BC Place show as one of those shows that could be fitted in!!

Quote2120Joe QuotePaddy Both nights in the Point Depot Dublin 2003. Yup, me too. First year that I started following the band on tour. What did Keith sing the first night-It’s a Long Way to Tipperary? Indeed he did, he gave us a bit of a verse.. That’s a good boot of the first show but I haven’t come across anything from the second night…

It’s a nice idea to have vids of each show but it don’t half screw up loading the pages of this thread. Is there a need seeing as we can all find them on YouTube?

QuoteMeise In my opinion, Oasis has never been a great band. Every song/tune sounds stolen—melodies, instrumentation, vocal lines, guitars... I never understood the hype surrounding this band. Aside from their big-mouthed babble, there was nothing substantial. Even the concerts are boring, and the whining that passes for singing has never been really appealing to me. No wonder they never made

Quotesteffiestones The dead wax space (also called the run-out groove or matrix area) is the smooth section of a vinyl record between the last music groove and the center label. Here’s what happens in that space: End of the music – This is where the recorded audio stops so the stylus doesn’t run into the label. Run-out groove – A locked circular groove where the needle spins until you li

QuoteRollingFreak Crazy that they really had that concert just in the nick of time. Lends credence to the idea that he was 1. sticking around for it and 2. after it happened he felt he could pass peacefully on his own terms. Hell of a celebration to send him off. He was dying to stand and just couldn't, but glad he got to be surrounded by so much love. Its increasingly rare that we honor the

To only pick one is hard… I’ll go 72 over a Brian era show by a small margin. 1972 Stones was one of the best rock n roll bands there’s ever been.
