Let's see if they can pull it off without it being laughable. I'll give them credit, the trailer gives me more hope than when I first read about it. Its a hell of a lot for them to tackle, storywise, Timthoee singingwise, but so far it seems more positive than negative. I kinda can't believe Dylan was even amendable to be approached, let alone give notes for the thing.

Fair. I thought I heard that a group has to play there at least either 4 shows, or 2 weekends to even make it worth it for the venue. And obviously charge a good amount. So it just seems that would be difficult with the Stones. Like at best they do a Friday and a Sunday show, but then they'd stay for 3 weeks to do that? Doesn't seem worth their time, or the Sphere's. And a one off

Quotespikenyc It will be interesting to see how they do the Sphere for the Eagles. Scenes of deserts, highways, josuhua trees, horses and the Beverly Hills Hotel? An old friend of mine is insistent that the Stones will play the Sphere. He says Mick has already started the conversation with Azoff. I dont believe it, but you never know? I think the Eagles one will be pretty boring by compar

I literally just listened to this, and A Passion Play over the last two mornings on my drive into work. As a big early Jethro Tull fan, to me Thick represents the end of that great run. You had This Was, which was great blues rock, different than what they become. You had Benefit, which was good, though I've always thought uneven. Anchored by some few choice songs. You had Stand Up, a tru

Yeah, they do a reasonably famous cover of it. At least one of the more well known covers, especially considering it had to have been one of the first. I like a lot of Grand Funk Railroad but I never found their cover of it all that good.

Quotemidimannz I now recall on the Hyde Park concert video seeing a countdown clock behind Charlie’s drum riser. I always thought they went out and played the set and that’s it…. If Keith wants a long solo he’ll just take it. It appears to be more “programmed” than that. It’s not a criticism, just an observation Most of the bands at the Stones level are kinda clocking it in to the T. Thats f

Quotehockenheim95 It's awesome that Bob does this kind of releases but it's sad to see all The Band stuff is missing. This was an essential part of the show and I love them both equally. I would agree with this. Dylan with the Band backing him were on fire on this, but the Band were equally brilliant and I'd love to have seen, at least a few, of their sets as well.

Quotetreaclefingers I always carry earplugs for that "just in case it's too loud" scenario. Mercifully I haven't had to use them for the Stones the two times I've seen them this tour. They are doing the sound right. In general, the Stones are almost always playing outside too which helps. I can't think of the last outdoor show I saw that was "too loud"

Quotesteffialicia I use silicon earplugs. I know there's better but they do help. Same. I've spent money on others and honestly they either feel the same as silicon or like they aren't doing enough. I also feel at this point I've seen everyone I really NEED to, so anyone I'm going to at this point I don't need the MOST clarity or its a repeat. And I've heard

QuoteDGA35 Quotecrholmstrom QuoteTornAndFried Roger Fisher was a fantastic guitarist. What was the reason he left the band? Was it over songwriting royalties? Or did he just get tired of touring? Word is there was some Fleetwood Mac Rumors type stuff going on. They originally moved up to Van because Ann's boyfriend was a draft dodger. Not sure if he was one of the band? Roger and his br

QuoteDGA35 It was good to see the original band reunited for the RnR Hall of Fame induction a few years ago. Agreed, and they crushed it. Very professional and really rocked it. Sad, but unsurprising, it was very tense behind the scenes. If I remember correctly, they really had to twist Ann and Nancy's arms to get them to just do one song with them.

Quoteroryfaninva That original Heart band was something special. Ann's voice was and still is magically powerful. Nancy's guitar playing and energy has always been excellent, but the guy's backing them up were equally a huge part. Roger Fisher, as shown here, really is responsible for a lot of that sound. As is Steve and Mike in the rhythm section, and Howard Leese on keys and a

QuoteEllipooh Just caught the film on hbo last night. I’m not a huge fan, but I was mesmerized and absolutely glued. Could not look away, it is truly an electrifying performance. I was amazed at how well behaved the audience was! It feels like routinely the two "best concert films of all time" are this and The Last Waltz. Both are spectacular in their own right, though I certainly giv

Quotesteffialicia I just did some additional reading about this person. There is little justice in this world that she lived to such a ripe, old age. Glad to learn she had a miserable death. If Mick truly understood this woman's background, shame on him. I had always hoped that in his relative youth at the time, he didn't truly understand what she was. I may get thrown off IORR but

Quoteswimtothemoon I also had to re-read Pete’s comment regarding Zak Starkey. After the re-read, now I think Pete is not saying that he doesn’t endorse Zach - but simply acknowledging he didn’t have any input in the decision. At least I hope that is the case. In my opinion, Zach seems to do a fine job with the Who tunes. It sounds like, in his nicest way, he's not saying he hates anyone i

Quoteukcal Abba or Dire Straits would be a first...... Its incredible, and admirable, that neither of those groups ever got back together. Abba I guess I kinda get, cause it was youthful music and it was a visual and they wouldn't want to spoil that with age. Coupled with the marital issues between them, though I'm happy they're now on good terms. But Dire Straits, god, they h

Gotta really love how Pete is just so out there to say literally whatever lol: "The interesting thing about Roger and I is it's not a band," says Townshend, while also revealing his current relationship with and singer Roger Daltrey is "better than it's ever been". QuoteTate I always respected Robert Plant for turning those offers down. I mean I love LZ, but none of the 3 reunions I'm aware of (Live Aid in '85, the Atlantic Records thing in '88, and the one-off in '07), despite being really fun and nostalgic, really did justice to John Bonham and the original LZ sound. Robert Plant, in the meantime, wants to keep creating his kind of art
