QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotefrenki09 He did let people down that night because of one AHOLE. But that is a tough one to swallow so I do feel him. It is easy for me to say as I was not there and I was not one of those who walked home disappointed. How? and why? He finished the show. No songs were omitted. The report says: After another fan said something, he told the crowd he could stop

It's great to be a rock star. You may believe that you are allowed to be grumpy and you may believe you can get away with it. I am just an ordinary guy who is a grumpy guy but I need to control myself. Being a star frees you up, you may believe. I have no problem with John. I do not know the man. I like his songs, but hey(!) I dig Dirty Works too -- that's what grumpy men do. (Thi

Quotebye bye johnny Lenny Kravitz talks about his nomination on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", March 20: Rock stars... The majority of music lovers look down on the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame while musicians cannot get enough of it. There are sooooo many bands, musicians that should be in there but they aren't. There is no one who could say a couple of words in the

QuoteRollingFreak Quotegotdablouse @Tate - thanks, hopefully this will see the light of day. Not sure about the demand though, heck, Rolling Stone didn't even publish a line since he died when they're always the first out with such news... If you ever needed more proof that Rolling Stone absolutely sucks and is such a faux organization, thats it. I am not sure if the Rolling Stones

QuoteTeaAtThree It bummed me out that Robbie Williams had a huge hit with "She's the One," when it was basically a note-for-note copy of the original World Party song. Saw this on the Super Deluxe site posted by Andreas L: The song’s producers, Guy Chambers and Steve Power, used the drummer and bassist of World Party’s touring band (neither of whom played on the World Party ve

I heard Put The Message when it came out in the early 90s. I was immediately hooked and I knew right away that Karl was not your ordinary musician. What a talent! I still spin his albums quite often. He created not only great songs but a great sound, great soundscape as well that was his only. Very gentle sound. His clever songwriting somehow reminded me of the Beatles. He will be greatly

Queen Lu looks more and more fragile but is getting better and better, and I have to say she had one of the best bands on those tribute albums. Tight, tight, tight... so FULL. The Winos were a really tight band, The Clash too. I cannot name a whole lotta bands that had that sound where you feel no spaces are left empty, not for a second. Or at least, that's how it seems. The Stones was never

QuoteMassimo68 May 1965 - First demo of "I'm waiting for the man", Lou Reed & John Cale. This demo shows how vital John Cale was in opening Reed's mind and changing the way he approached music, sounds, soundscapes. I miss Reed. Boy, was he on top of his game when he left us?! Never a dull moment. I cannot wait to hear this tribute album in full.

QuoteTheflyingDutchman The person that followed Jagger at 0:32 looks like Taylor from a distance, some sort of lookalike, and Jack Bruce at 0:42 suffering from serious withdrawal symptoms. . I don't think Bruce and Taylor crossed paths with the Stones in 1975 though. Thank you anyway. That is NOT Jack Bruce, I am 100% sure, and although the guy, who resembles the other Mick, is quite the

Sad. Sad. Sad. Probably Rough & Ready and the Orange Album are the two LPs I have span the most from my Jeff Beck collection. To me they sound more of a band effort with a "fuller" sound than on the two previous albums with Rod and Ronnie. I have always wondered about Bobby Tench's relationship with Jeff Beck. They never reunited after Beck went his own way leaving the Je

All you need is (not love) but A Stone's Throw Japan edition. The rest in his brief recording carrier as a solo artist is rubbish, I am sorry to say. I remember the excitement of picking up his first solo LP decades ago, and then right after the initial spin, listening to it once more in disbelief. A dull album without any memorable songs. Yes, fine guitar playing but this would not have

Great line up for one of the most unique festivals. There is no other place like New Orleans. I would love to see Ivan Neville's band and C. Burnside in such an amazing place. Tickets aren't cheap, are they? Even with getting an oil company sponsoring the event. An oil company backing a Louisiana festival... cannot do without oil.

Here's what I got, don't know if it could help, but here it is One thing is sure, Mick loved this jacket Actually, they are all wearing the same clothes in the three photos... The Hill photos sold for over $64000. I wonder if it was Matt who got them...

Quoteroryfaninva "To The Bone" is great..a total commercial flop they had to release on their own label. Apparently the live sessions at KONK for "To The Bone" were filmed..this looks like it...totally in their element here.. Commercial flop or not, I believe it is well-received today. Actually, I do not even know why this album failed in the first place, if it really did,

Oh, Dave! Glad he is till with us. He did well on his solo albums. I often play 'em. He seems like a lovely bloke, probably more open minded than Ray. Happy B-day to him! It is unfortunately over for the Kinks. To The Bone is one of the most enjoyable live albums out there.

QuoteGasLightStreet As awesome as The Sphere is U2 (or anyone) will never top ZOO TV. Zoo Station and it's opening (for the stadium tours especially) was brilliant and beyond anything that hack Roger Waters could come up with. The Fly was complete overload. Oh, boy... If only they played this on the upcoming tour. Is there anything politically incorrect about its title in today's oversensitive world? Negrita is Spanish for "little black girl." I was not there in 1976 or so to see and hear this live but I can see the audience all moving in unison to this groovy, funked up piece of dirty beauty. I would give my beloved pink la

QuoteGasLightStreet Quotenoughties The Hackney Diamonds user reviews have stopped coming. The album has settled on three and a half stars out of five, both by allmusic and users. What an absurd thing to say. One site. A site that sucks. That doesn't mean anything. Your comment is not less absurd, and not very factual. On another note. I used to visit Allmusic quite often. I

I do like the Miss You remix on the Austin Powers soundtrack and there is a pretty good Sympathy For The Devil remix on the remix CD. There were many crap remixes from Bridges and Voodoo... Mixed Emotions 12" remix -- now that was something to dig. That riff at the beginning... and then the bass kicks in... In my book, that was the last true remix without the boom-boom-boom-boom beats
