Thank you for your review. This feels like a well-intentioned hodge podge of musicians. I hope that does not sound mean. RR's surprising death sticks with me and I haven't shaken it. He is a 50+ year "friend" and I miss him, his voice, his swagger, his stories, his writing, his guitar playing. The Band has a singular position in the history of popular music. Integrity lasts. His break with Levon is a real tragedy. I am happy the Forum is still up and running. I grew up in Inglewood and spent much time there for sporting and musical events, including the Stones.

Sounds like a nice event warts and all.
And, yes, I too wish Garth Hudson had been there.
I know he is an elderly man (87 years old now), but learning that he gave a public performance as late as last year (check Wiki), I wonder if he could have managed just one song. Now that we know the setlist, imagine Garth guested for the Clapton band, playing The Genetic Method segued into Chest Fever, which would have made the highlight of the evening. Standing ovation guaranteed. A missed opportunity.

Sadly, Garth Hudson's reportedly in failing health and in an assisted living facility. The report of his house concert performance last year noted he was in a wheelchair.

Very happy I ended up going last night. ...

Started at 7:15, ended a minute or two after midnight.

Thank you so much for the report. I am surprised they did not plan anything for the intermissions. It is puzzling... But it sounded like a great night.

Obviously, Garth could not be there but Bob, Neil, Joni should have been... Bob has been so invisible since... well... I don't know.

Cannot wait for the DVD.
