QuoteElmo Lewis Many times Mick is the second best player in the band (behind Blondie). Never heard Blondie play. Saw him play many many times but never heard him. Not on a Stones boot not on a Stones official live albums. Not even the 30 or more times I've seen him with the Stones. Can't hear him. Is he even plugged in?

There have been many times where I've sat under lighting rigs PA systems and score clocks. I look up and pray and put my confedence in the rigging guys that everything will be fine. The score clock at the new HSBC arena in Buffalo came crashing to the floor years ago. It happened during the daytime when no event was going on. Thank God.

Quotepaulm right on whitem8, +1, good critical content. guess we both see '81 as the beginning of the "machine." I think the machine got more polished after '81. I saw them in '89 and it was a highly lubed machine. In retrospect, not terribly novel, but man what a machine. Yes in 89 they became the greatest band in the world again. I guess every band reaches a low point

Quotewhitem8 Um yeah. Your two videos show that clearly. Boy that 78 version is miles ahead of the 81 version you posted. I laughed when I watched the 81' vid. Looks like a scene from Pee Wee Herman.

People's memories fade. Some get a warped view when time passes by for a long time. If you had a time machine and watched the 78 or 81 tour. I bet you couldn't wait to come back. The people that liked these shows were either first time Stones concert goers or they were never there and judge by 1 bootleg. I remember thinking how great the movie The Song Remains The Same was. Saw it a

Quotewhitem8 well i guess 81 was good if you don't mind bright pastels, football warm up pants, and barking vocals with a perma coke cold... '78, while the sets were short, was wonderful. Full on guitar onslaught, and tons of great new material to wow the audiences. And listening to Handsome Girls Jagger sang great! don't forget the cherry picker
