Massey Hall is awesome. i love seeing shows there. i always get a sense that i'm in a historic building every time i step inside. the acoustics are good. there are some obstructed seats (pillars partially blocking the view) and also there are some sections of the left and right balcony where you can't see the entire stage (unless you're standing). other than that, Forum: Tell Me

At least we still have Massey Hall...
How is Massey Hall? Joe Bonamassa is playing Saturday. I've never been there. Forum: Tell Me

There was some similar nostalgia tonight on the Juno telecast (Canada's music awards). Also, Neil Young honoured for humanitarian work, and Shania Twain inducted into the Hall of Fame. As Shania left the stage, she ended her tribute to Canada by saying "I love our lakes! I love our bush!" You could kinda hear most of the men in the audience muttering "YOU Forum: Tell Me

Oh yeah that was the tour jagger decided not to sing and just prance and shout. Band sounded good. He didn't
But why do I love that tour? Cause he sounded like Mick and Mick sounded like that in 1975. I prefer that Mick to the 1989-2011 Mick.
I do too. Forum: Tell Me

WHHHHHHHHHHHAT? How can one hate these tours?
Compared to 69, 72, 75, 89, 94, 97, 99, 03 it's easy. Forum: Tell Me

They play more slowly in '89 because they're using click counters and doing less cocaine.
Exactly. They started using click tracks beacuse I think Jagger wanted a more "professional" show...also '78 and '81 were way faster than '75.
Perfect answer. Another reason I hated 78 and 81. Forum: Tell Me

They spared them the pain of the worst tour ever by The Stones. 78 was a joke.
Why do you say that,? I love the 78 recordings, the band sound on fire.
Keith and Ronnie F'd up on stage. Crappy show. Lousy set lists. There was no way they attempt to play a deep cut or some like Midnight Rambler, Monkey Man etc during this tour. It was embarrasing. Forum: Tell Me
Miller beat the Habs. It doesn't get any better. I quit counting everytime Myers rushed the puck over the blue line only to lose it. People here in Buffalo are brainwashed over this guy. Bring back Lydman and Tellinder please!!! In fact I can think of one Buffalo defenseman that's playing worst than Myers. That incluse Ruff's scratch of the day. Forum: Tell Me

Does anyone believe Mick drinking beer on the couch? Enough said!
I never imagined him being friends with Lucifer either, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying his songs.
Agree. Songs aren't always about the 1st person perspective. They can tell the story of anyone. Drinking beer on the couch is something we all can relate too. Forum: Tell Me

As a long long time Sabres season ticket holder I'd still be surprised if they make the playoffs. As much as I like Ruff he's a player killer. he burns out miller every year and benches guys for making ONE mistake during a game, yet Tyler Myers coughs up the puck every other shift and nothings done. Last year's Olympics clearly showed that Ryan Miller is an elite goaltender. He's got a weak and undersized supporting cast.
100% Agree. This is a last place team. Ruff the great coach that he is has them playing way above their heads. I blame Larry Quinn. Let the new bosses work their magic. Forum: Tell Me

Funnily enough I got 3 CDs out of the library (2 solo) and I'm playing my way through them. Very impressed so far - in fact I've just ordered his new album.
Pick up Live From Nowhere in Particular and Ballad Of John Henry. You'll love them both. Listen to the lead in "Happier Times" from Ballad Of John Henry. It will almost bring you to tears it's Forum: Tell Me

with the flood on the market of live allman recordings (vintage ones and more recent ones), i'm not prepared to say this is the best live allmans ever...but...i'm very close to it....
It's the standard against which all other Allmans live recordings are judged.

Just got back from the Sabres game today. The Sabres beat Ottawa 6 to 4.
On the way to the game I just heard the sad news that former Buffalo Sabre and member of the French Connection Rick Martin has passed away at age 59. He apparently suffered a heart attack while driving in the Buffalo area (Clarence).
