I should thank you, Beelyboy. I saved your post. As you so rightly pointed out, they were pioneering/dealing with a less exact science (large scale sound engineering) than today. The skill of the placement and balance of the sound must have been exacting with less digital tricks to rely on. Same for musicians today. A day at the office: I get it.
