Train to Nowhere- a great contemporary (well, in 1969) blues track........

Great video- thanks for posting....saw the Barbarians at the Capital Center, verging on a musical trainwreck at times but loads of fun..of course the notion Ronnie Wood is borrowing anything from Johnny Thunders is nonsense....the other way around perhaps....

Sloooow build up to about the 3:45 minute mark, then Pete taps into the other worldly. Superlatives fail....how profoundly do you have to suffer to play like this? Powerful and scary....

Underwhelmed alot of people at the time but sounds great today- Presence of the Lord, Cant Find My My Home, Sea of Joy...good laid back stoned UK hippy stuff!

Agreed- Pepper is a good record but way over-rated. Revolver and Rubber Soul were better. But Pepper is better than Satanic Majesties so probably best not to throw stones...

Sorry to hear this- a very sophisticated and influential bass player. The 3 LP live Yessongs was teenage mainstay. Respect to Chris and condolences to his friends and family.

Dammit. Hate to lose another one of the classic British tv/cinema greats, especially so soon after Sir Christopher Lee. John Steed lives forever! Raise your glass!!!

Totally agree- a fantastic band, a national treasure with a wealth of great songs but Im hoping they stay retired from live performance. They ran out of gas 20 years ago, no need to flog it. Mission accomplished!

Im sure theres more than a few here that can relate- (Im in my mid-50's) but how well I remember sneaking downstairs around 11:30 on a Saturday night late 1960's/early 1970's , wedged up against the TV with the volume down low so my parents wouldnt bust me watching Dracula Prince of Darkness or Dracula Has Risen from The Grave, absolutely rigid with fear but unable to look away and

If youre inclined towards Barrett era Floyd or Sgt. Pepper/Magical Mystery Tour Beatles, the 2 LP "Gift from A Flower to A Garden" is a must. Sums up the whole UK psych vibe as well as any record of the period. Its aged surprising well. You've got to pick up every stitch.....

1978 Roanoke Civic Center- I went with a couple other college longhairs, higher than the proverbial Georgia pine to see BB King with Bobby Blue Bland opening- to our surprise it was a 90% older black audience in formal wear (gowns, tuxedos)- one of the best shows I've ever seen and a treasured memory- peace and God bless this great American.

So I've heard-not a huge Cheap Trick fan but IMHO that performance is a corker (and while he's no Charlie Watts and never will be, its sounds pretty good)

Charlie is by far the best drummer on this list, including John Bonham and Mitch Mitchell. But Cheap Trick is still pretty spry live in 2015- forget the crap 80's/90's stuff- check Bun E. and the boys, raucous-

Gotta agree with the naysayers- no Plonk and no Mac, Rods voice is shot -whats the point? Feeling just about the same about any Kinks reunion prospects these days. Just goes to show how exceptional The Stones really are for being able to deliver a great show with no excuses well into their late 60's/70's.

Persuaded to go last summer, anticipated a tired Zep retread mixed with some of his 80's stuff which I didnt like too much and hasnt aged well in my opinion, possibly lots of screeching and posing- was I ever wrong. It was an amazing fun eclectic show- best 50 bucks I spent in 2014. Go if you get a chance, you wont be sorry. Robert Plant Tour Dates: 05/24 - George, WA - Sasquatch! Festiv

Jenny Marriott nails it. A couple quick vignettes- when Steve was trying to recruit the Blackberries for the Eat It tour, he offered something like $1500 a week for the 3 singers- when Venetta Fields declined saying she made more than that doing sessions, Marriott was caught of guard and replied he meant $1500 each- a rather astronomical figure for backup vocalists in 1973. When the band decide

Ponder the words of Lemmy on the subject- "The Beatles were hard men too. Brian Epstein cleaned them up for mass consumption, but they were anything but sissies. They were from Liverpool, which is like Hamburg or Norfolk, Virginia--a hard, sea-farin' town, all these dockers and sailors around all the time who would beat the piss out of you if you so much as winked at them. Ringo's

Another Stones related wrinkle to the Pie story, per Jerry Shirleys book "Best Seat in the House", the newly unemployed Brian Jones contacted Marriott about coming to the initial Humble Pie rehearsals with an eye to joining- an idea that was met with a little apprehension given the state Jones was in and not taken totally seriously by the band- in any event he died very shortly after an

Taken as a whole, the narrative from people around Marriott (Glyn Johns, Jerry Shirley, Ian McLagan, etc), Marriott was frequently so manic and drunk and coked up, he was torture to be around. In his book, Jerry Shirley also maintains the notion of lost Humble Pie millions was a figment of Marriotts cocaine paranoia. Bassist Rick Wills observed even at his wasted worst he could still jump on st

Zack Starkey is an excellent drummer, Julian did some inoffensive radio friendly pop back in the day . James McCartney and Sean Lennon are cringe-worthy. Never heard anything Dhani has done outside of some acoustic guitar at the GH Tribute. Lets hope no one will, even in jest, resurrect the bizarre odious notion that assembling these fellows into a band is a feasible or sane proposition. Aint go
