To this day, the LP I've listened to the most. I always come back to this one. The rawness, the urgency on the LP is unbelievable. Living in the US, Tell Me was the 1st Stones song I heard. It was so different than most of the stuff at the time. So stark, and while the majority of the songs out were more poppy and upbeat (Beatles early songs), this was heartbreak vs new love. The LP is a mu

I agree with Kent. Way too much negativity. No matter what they do many complain they aren't the same as they were in the 1960s. Of course not. They have done something no other rock band has done, they have grown with their music. If they were the same as they originally were that would have been boring and they would have never become the legendary band they have become. Their early alb

Honky Tonk Women on Ya-Yas. Escorted on the boulevards of Paris etc. instead of I laid a divorcee in NYC. That was 1969. Tumbling Dice Mick has changed the Lyrics. Definately on 1981 Tour.

Through the past, darkly -- Great cover & great songs. Always loved More Hot Rocks. I know it doesn't have the big classic hits but these songs represent the Stones best to me.

Both great albums. White album very eclectric, but some really great moments. Exile cooks from begining to end. Exile definately a more mature lp. No question for me, Exile all the way.

IMHO best Stones solo LP. This was Mick being Mick and not trying to record something he felt was current.

MyCDs are seperated by solo artists and bands/groups. Then by category (Rock, blues, metal etc). The Stones & their solo albums are kept seperate from my other cds. All cds are then sorted by year released. Bootlegs are kept seperate from official cds, and again The Stones are kept seperate. Box sets are stored by size. I also have all my cds recorded in a database. The database lists the

I used to love the holdiay season as most of the music stores seemed to carry a lot of the artists back catalogues and rare issues. I would always find some rare gem I'd been looking for years for. Now the bins mostly have recent releases and many of the older acts are relegated to greatest hit comps. I'm really begining to hate the digital download era.

Saw the Kinks in the late 70s in a small auditorium. It was awesome. Father Christmas had just come out and it was Christmas Time when I saw them. Ray came out in a Santa Clause suit and sang father Christmas. Who's next is a tour de force but edge to Kinks.

Kish, you beat me to the punch. I was gonna start a thread like this earlier today, but got caught up in a project. I've been listening to this cd since Saturday. I loved it when it came out and still love it now. Not sure why not as much love for this CD on this board. Many here say its too long, but I bet if this was only 10 songs and the rest released as b-sides, many would say they shoul

Add Big Hits (High Tide & Green Grass) (UK) & Through The Past, Darkly (Big Hits Vol. 2) (UK) to this. For some reason the US discography is considered the "official" releases now.

I think more here than meets the eye. I think they should have had a few more songs as it too brief. I really love Wayne Perkins and think he would have been a technically better choice to replace Taylor, but I think the band needed the personality (energy) the Ronnie gave them at the time. Not sure if the band would have survived without him.

I'm always amazed at how much bashing the band gets on a site that is supposed to be for "fans" of the band. IORR is yet another great 70s LP. There is such diverse styles on this LP. The balls to the walls opener if you can't rock me. The garage band sound of Dance Little Sister, The funk of Fingerprint File, The reggae of Luxury. The soulfulness of Do You Really Want To Be M
