QuoteBlueTurns2Grey RIP Franz. It was such a pleasure to watch you play football. We have lost one of the greats, as a person and as a footballer. Beckenbauer was surely a great footballer but rather a Dummschwätzer (German for a person who talks without thinking) than a great person - even when he talked about football. Si tacuisset, philosophum maneret PS: I once met him in person. Must

Quotehockenheim95 Hello, I just saw (and ordered) some Japanese SHM CDs from Amazon Germany for 7,99€ each. Don't miss this deal if you're interested! just in case that anyone wondered why amazon.de lowered their price so much. They did so to match Saturn's offer. But the best news: all the CDs that are already gone at amazon are still available at Saturn.de btw: which

Quotestonesman87 I've been researching this topic. The main problem seems to be that it's not easy to remove hardcoded subtitles. I haven't found a succesful method or online site so far. Does anybody know how to, or are hardcoded subs truly embedded in the video? attach a small piece of paper onto your monitor…

Quoteretired_dog QuoteIrix Quoteretired_dog the cited law has absolutely nothing to do with unreleased recordings! The German copyright law has in § 85 (3) a text passage: "If the phonogram has not been published within this period or has been used for authorised communication to the public, the right shall expire 50 years after the production of the phonogram." This could apply

Indeed, there could be a 3rd case as me

Quotejohnnythunders The fifty years rule only applies to broadcast material, which is why we can issue previously-unreleased radio and TV broadcasts but not studio outtakes this is simply wrong! The 50 years rule applies to all kinds of recordings. The fact that there are more live recordings on the market is simply because they are easier to access than (unreleased/not leaked) studio recor

QuoteIrix Quotebuffalo7478 The cost to administer and protect the copyright under multiple country/regional laws may be more than the potential revenues to earn from some copyrights. Must be worth it since Pink Floyd temporary released 1972 & 1973 recordings in 2022 & 2023 worldwide via streaming services - , . "Bob Dylan’s team [...] simply pressed 300 or so CDs and sen

QuoteIrix Quoteslewan Anyhow – it makes much more sense to release those deluxe editions you're talking about (or at least some copyright protection release) before the copyright expires to protect the very copyright. Yes: either one time an expensive super deluxe edition (copyright lost after that) - or a low quality release for copyright extension to protect it for 70 years. no –

QuoteIrix Quoteslewan In contrast, by not releasing uncirculating recordings within time they become public domain (although nobody has access to them) and therefore economically worthless. They're economically not worthless - you could release them once, e.g. as part of an expensive super deluxe edition. But after that, everyone could use it (e.g. for copies, repackaging, remixes/rema

Quoteretired_dog QuoteIrix Quoteds1984 So all the unaired recorded show up to 1973 are entering the public domain. I'm not entirely sure about that - at least there might be an expiration after 50 years, but I'm no lawyer. Sony Music seems to be aware of this 50-year rule - but other record companies apparently not. Besides the 27 EU member states, there're ~168 further

However the only Stones copyright issues related to the ABKCO era. The last tour to get a release was, I think, 1969. Presumably there's something in their contracts since they left ABKCO which has meant that the copyrig
