I think Mick blowed SOME people away simply because he USED a harp on CYHMK. I sounds kind of Sesame Streetish on Live Licks. Rambler is his harp sig song. I mean, He's no John Popper, but easier to digest. He my not be a note-choker like John Popper, but he's distinct. Like Robert Plant. Here's me trying to sing and play harp like Mick:

Same thing happened to "Love is Strong" and "Anybody Seen..." Most of there music past Tattoo You is throwaway after it's radio life has died. Their newer songs in their setlists roughly reflect their single releases. There are exceptions, as some Voodoo & Bridges cuts re-surface (You Got Me Rocking and Out of Control are their latter-day champs). I doublt anyt

I heard vague mumblings about Jimmy Page digging up stuff on the radio this weekend. It pissed me off how vague it was, actually! I LOVE Zeppelin - my #2 fave.

The anticipation has relocated itself. It now happens during each song... "Wonder if Mick will use his studio-ish voice in this song or if he'll sing like someone's holding his nose?" "Wonder if Bernard will start playing guitar now?" "Wonder what kind of drum loop they'll use for Sympathy this time" I can't believe I just made a post

CNE (demolished in '99) could hold over 43, 700, & The 'Big O' can hold more than 46, 000 (it had 12 000 seats removed in 1991).

What's his singing like these days? And I agree, the ONLY way VH could POSSIBLY continue is w/ Diamond Dave!!! As IF M.A. wouldn't run back to that cash opp.!

It's funny how the two greatest tours of their career (72/73, 78) are the ones with no proper album. Actually, that's not funny at all, it's a damn shame! Hey Stones, OPEN THE VAULTS!

My Beatles-obsessed friend showed me the Rutles. Now I'm no stranger to the Beatles myself, not a single allusion missed me. Yet I didn't find The Rutles to be that funny. Amusing, yes. Hilarious? Mmm... I wouldn't go that far. It seem like more like Eric Idle's earnest love letter to the Beatles than an actual parody.

Born in 1973, I've never known life w/o the Stones. I learnt to use the turntable at a young age, and Hot Rocks and the Blue album were my favourites (among various Muppet & Sesame Street LPs!) There was kids show from the 70's called The Hilarious House of Frightenstein with a 'Wolfman' DJ character. He played classic rock and danced with some psychedelic blue-screen a

Brian was the star of the band - before they got popular & started writing their own stuff. The reasons for their longevity are the star power of Mick, adoration of Keith, and the power of the songwriting between the two. Harder fans love Charlie & Woody. Brian... it was over for him in '66.

They should take a month off, get into a club, and crank out a whole show of loose jams, obscure covers, and stuff they've never played before, but give the setlist some kind of UNIFIED COOLNESS instead of simply stacking up LP tracks they haven't released live yet. Get Mick drunk so he'll be funny, too.

Awesome! See, I don't have speakers at work (or headphones), but I'm sure the sound quality is great. Thanks Urban Steel, much appreciated! You should see the stack of CDRs I have here! I'm gonna be Santa Stone this year.
