I have always loved this song, but now I have such a whole new appreciation for it, that it is probably one of my top 5 all-time favorite songs. This write up is incredible. What a friggin genious McLean was. This ranks right up there with The Waste Land for me.

OK, I've obviously lost more brain cells than I thought! I, too, saw the Eagles on the 94/95 tour for $100/ticket in Hartford. That would predate my cherry-poppin Stones Bridges show by 2 years, when I paid $75/ticket. I don't recall what the prices were for the Fleetwood Mac reunion in 97/98, but I remember those being rather pricey as well. Bottom line, I guess it was the Eagl

Kent, Where on earth did you find 25x5 on DVD?? I've been lookin for it now on the internet and I find mentions of it in BluRay at blockbuster, though none of the stores in my area carry it.

I have no love for Dylan. Saw him once to say I saw him the week prior to the last Woodstock with Paul Simon, who positively blew him away. Can't understand a friggin thing he says and it's like nails on a chalkboard to me.

I too seem to remember the shock at the ticket prices for the Eagles reunion tour, at a time when I'd only paid $75 for the Stones Bridges tour, which I had previously thought was outrageous.

Kovach, Thanks for the Felder explanation. Elmo, Thanks for correcting my typo - I was in too much of a hurry to get my post posted here on the anti-Eagles thread. I find it amazing the bands that get bashed on here, of course it's all a matter of personal taste, but some of them simply astound me, and when it's a general consensus, I do wonder what the hell else people list

I've always liked the Tappan Zee Bridge, particularly approaching it at night as it comes out of the trees. Amazing sight. But the Golden Gate, GW, Brooklyn, and London Bridges are all also amazing. THe Bridge that is the road into New Orleans is probably the longest friggin bridge I've ever been on, as it runs pretty much the whole state above the swamps. The Merrimack bridge in Mi

How about the Bulletboys, Gerraldine Fibbers, Amy Arena, Aynsley Dunbar, John Sykes, Chris Novoselic (Nirvana bassist), Tom Keiffer's solo album, Chris Robinson's solo albums (weren't in print very long), Lita Ford, Candlebox, Cracker??

I think the first 3 songs are incredible: No More Walks in the Wood, How Long, and Busy Being Famous. I have wondered why Don Felder left though - does anyone know?

Their 1st album is superb, a classic. Recovering the Satellites was about as bad a follow as is possible, and I've not bought anything by them since.

I will go out on the limb on 2 counts here...1). I happen to very much enjoy the Eagles. The slick, smooth harmonies is a nice change from all the sh-- that passes itself off as music nowadays. The Eagles were the first concert that I spent over $100 a ticket to see live on the Hell Freezes Over tour. Hotel California is one of my all-time favorite albums, with Wasted Time serving as one of m

I stopped buying U2 albums with "All that you can't leave behind", that was one horrific album, and for me, I never understood why or how all the critics raved about it so much. The song Vertigo itself I really liked, but not enough to waste anymore money on them putting out crappy albums.

I sure as hell hope you're right FrankM, but I'm reading reports that they are thinking of trading Melky and Kennedy/Hughes, and another prospect to the Twins for Santana. I don't think it's a good move myself.

LOL I believe Lowell's gone to Philly. Even if they don't want or need him. The idea of having him to torment the Yanks will be too much. He will turn the Green Monster into the San Fransisco bay with hundreds standing outside waiting to catch those balls flying outta there. These are dark dark times for Yankees fans, especially when they're talkin bout trading all their fine

FrankM wrote... The human cheeseball known as Arod can't leave New York fast enough as far as I'm concerned. Recent Yankee championships without Arod = 4. Recent Yankee championships with Arod = 0. Satisfacton of seeing the overhyped phony Arod leave New York = priceless. For the money he wants we can get two great players and I bet at least one of them will actually perform in the

I am glad that Joe finally told em to F off but he should have been fired long ago. The blame doesn't entirely rest on the front office I'm sorry. He had some great pitchers in Quantrall and Proctor and he wore em both out. Why did he start Wang on 3 days rest after a Sh-tty start? Shoulda been Moose. Why didn't Jeter bunt with the bases loaded regardless of his track record?

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong overdue. Sorry people. I'm a diehard yankee fan and I've been wanting Joe's head since the year after the Diamondbacks debacle. He's been done for a long time. Relies far too much on one player and burns them out as a result. For years I've been saying let the home-growns develop instead of going after these high profile
