It was Albert Maysles assistant who told me he looked at the Baltimore 69 footage that was shot as a test,just a few songs, and the assistant didn't think it was very good, and that's why it wasn't used. Albert Maysles is a sweet wonderful and kind man. But he doesn't have that good of a memory regarding Gimme Shelter.

Some of Baltimore 69 was filmed, as a test, but not used for the movie, The quality of the performance I was told in the film was not useful for the Gimme Shelter movie. Of course the soundboard recording of Love In Vain was kept and used on ya yas.

The 2002 ABKCO ya yas CD was issued by mistake with the intro cut, then re issued correctly. The early release is now a collectors item as it is not available with that edit.

I have two vinyl versions of 9/27/69, same source I believe, I can't hear drums nor on a different tape separate source, no high hat, maybe a bass thud but more like a mike stand thud. My vinyl sources are Stoned MSG and Midnight concert, both 9/27 Tape source is a private recording.

Well I've just listened again to the 9/27 Prodigal Son and I can't hear any of the drums. There are some sporatic thuds here and there but I don't know if that is a bass drum. The 9/28 2nd show Prodigal Son Audience recording has no drums, but it appears on the soundboard bonus tracks. I think it's great to have the censored Star Star on CD, kind of like a rarity on CD. We all have the uncensored version on CD so this is good to have this for a change.
