If they were promoting ER in '81 it was ABB style promotion. They only played Let Me Go and She's So Cold on the '81 tour, right?

I love ER but thnk it is Some Girls Lite. The songs that didn't make the cut for SG. Songs good but not quite as strong. I always thought if Start Me Up was on ER (it was ready to go) and replaced Indian Girl, ER would be considered right up there with SG. Tatoo You is a little overrated because the Stones were so hot at the time with SMU being huge and the tour. I think Tops and Heaven

Rod pursuing his solo career (mostly using Faces as his backup band) while simultaneously working with Faces, was not a workable situation. Rod is lucky that Faces lasted as long as they did.

I think that it was in Ronnie's book that he showed up in S.F. to play with the Stones on 3/8/65. So it must be true!!

that Apple commercial for the colored IMACs was just over 1 year ago. I would think that the companies would tie up the song longer than that. And why would Sony want to use a song that Apple just used. (other than it is a great song) I just scratched my heads about the Grammy commercial. Maybe trying to get an older demographic watching the Grammys. Won't work for me, the last one I sa

129. Re: Ronny
I got this for Christmas too and read it right away. It was a quick enjoyable read. Seems like a lot of separate stories woven together from various sources including Ronnie's memory. Funny about the 7/5/69 "discrepency" since he makes a big deal about it. I think the book conveys a good sense of his personality. It seems like he connects well with people. I liked finding out

Murder Incorporated from the tour of about 10 yrs ago showed that he is the best guitarist in the E Street band. I am pretty sure he plays mostly with a thumb pick. His stuff from Grin in the early70s is awesome song writing and playing wise.

They all know that Charlie is the most solid of the band. So of course this comment is a joke as I am sure Charlie prides himself on making very few mistakes. I think they all communicate on stage about good and bad parts. Keith directs more with his guitar and by moving about the stage. Mick more with gestures and verbally. I think Charlie should take charge and throw sticks when someone sc

I saw a while ago while flipping thru channels. I went past it and then I thought wait, was that Mick running thru the woods with a rifle? I went back and that is what it was and I realized that it must be Ned Kelly. It was kind of funny, probably funnier than it was supposed to be. Mick delivered most of his lines soliloquy style, looking at the sky. I like the Waylon Jennings song.

I would cut to 10 also 1)Rough Justice 2)Let Me Down Slow 3)It Won`t Take Long 4)Rain Fall Down 5)Back Of My Hand 6)Oh No Not You Again 7)Biggest Mistake 8)This Place Is Empty 9) Laugh I Nearly Died 10)Look What The Cat Dragged In (or could be Dangerous Beauty; need a rocker after 3 slower ones) But even with 10 it is petering off at the end. This leaves off Dangerous Beau

In the U.S. the opener for Between the Buttons was LSTNT (not Yesterdays papers) Although I have to add that PIB was the opener to Aftermath (in the US) which is a strong opener (nothing against Mothers little helper) how about Great openers on a "lesser" record? I guess One Hit is the clear winner. I might have to put Love Is Strong as I am not a big fan of VL.

there is a very strong correlation between the excellence of the Stones' albums and the opening tracks. Hence the great ones all have openers that are among their best. Nobody wants to say Miss You for fear of ridicule but add that one too and you see their top 7 or so albums named above. The opposite is true also. Sad Sad Sad, Flip the Switch, & Dance were openers to albums stronger

there was a video on youtube recently that someone had made. Music was one of the Exile songs, I think maybe Torn & Frayed. Showed a googleearth type zoom in. And then video shots of Nellcote and its ocean views. I had not realized that this was right on the coast.

They make lists of what can be played (not what can not be played) Each station is geared toward their own demographics. And some corporate program manager decides what is on the list. Back in the day each station had their program manager who decided what their station would play enabling local considerations to come into it. And DJs had flexibility to play what they wanted too. Those days a
