I was in Ireland last summer. I was first there 29 years ago. Have second cousins etc. being of Irish heritage. Ireland is a much happier, more prosperous place. Lots of educated people making a good living as professionals. Seems to me to have changed from a third world country to a modern European place. The sense of a border is gone. No British soldiers pointing machine guns at the head

I agree three! Love the crunchy guitars on this one. also Feel On baby & Wanna Hold you. Wonder why it was not bigger of a hit. Coming off TY you would think that people would be hungry for the Stones two years later. And they updated their sound for the 80s with a harder rock sound etc. that I think would have a broader appeal. I guess it did not work but don't know why not. (Som

is Patrick Swayze a big star in France?? I don't get the logic of first Swayze and now Bowie. Not exactly on the same plane of stardom.

It was not really a sax solo it was the sax joining in with the rest of the band. This was one of the brilliant moments where the Stones play the song I guess what you could saying repetitively. But then you realize that all parts are so incredibly in groove, anchored by Charlie and Bill, that it could not be any better. In this case MJ is in on it too with Keith and Ronny. One of their best

The name is because it was built to hold the Grand National Rodeo which is still the biggest rodeo in the U.S. Why this is in SF I am not sure. The Cow Palace always was a big barn but there is no other arena in S.F. (Oakland and San Jose have modern arenas for their sports teams). It was not good for sports in the 60's and has only been used for the rodeo, occassional concerts, but more

Nils was a great showman and can play guitar as well as anyone. I think most of his fans were people who had seen him live. His club appearances were packed with his enthusiastic cult following. And he put on great shows. His first couple solo albums and the Grin were great. His songs were usually sentimental odes about unrequited love etc. (he also had a tribute to Ali called No Mercy, abo

I don't think the horns sound bad but it does make me cringe when the horns are playing the guitar lead parts and K and R are mugging for the crowd/cameras. I think they need the horns just like they need the back up vocals, it is just that they rely too much on them too often.

take the cab to Yoshi's. maybe a mile and a half from your hotel. Cab will be just a few bucks more than BART that does not get you all that much closer. You could walk the whole way. Straight down Broadway and you will be safe. BART is right by your hotel and great to go to SF or Berkeley

I was listening to UC the other day and had to repeat Feel On Baby a few times. I will go with that as best original and Too Rude as best cover

really a surprising lack of creativity and originality in these logos RS obviously excepted. I like Aerosmith's. But that some of these are even considered logos is a joke. Simplicity can be elegant but these go beyond that.

He's not in Mick's or Keith's league as an actor but he tries hard. Actually I could see Bowie taking on a whole new career as a sophisticated modern Cary Grant kind of actor. Start sending him the scripts.

Beast of Burden is a pretty good song. I think Goat Head Soup is better than Emotional Rescue but not in the ball park of SG. 4 fast songs does not make it a punk album although definitely a kick in the ass to punk with those few numbers especially Respectable. Just My Imagination was one of the fast ones and it was a great cover. The other songs include disco, rap, country and a couple middl

I agree with dj. The slight nervousness during AG was apparent. The echoing Free Falling makes me think there was something on tape but it could have been a backup singer live. Tom strikes me as a person on integrity and respect for the music so I would be really surprised if any more than a minor effect was on tape. On the other hand I think the discription of Prince as mostly tape is accura

the way things are headed we could be looking at a Bon Jovi show 3 yrs from now. Van Halen, Springsteen and then ... We must band together to stop this at all costs (well may be not all costs) I remember in the 80s the shows were so lame, that other networks put on alternative half time shows. Fox had a show with the Wayans and Jim Carey and the Fly Girl dancers (forget the name of their re
