That was when he was desperate to prove he and the band still had energy so he basically screamed like someone was hitting him with a hot poker over the lackluster tracks. Don't Hold Back is the nadir. Forum: Tell Me
Anyone have footage or sound of this, where apparently Gram Parsons changed the set list at the last second and called for Hickory Wind in dedication to his grandmother? Thanks Forum: Tell Me
Clapton. Or Waddie Wachtel. Ronnie has probably never inspired Keith to any creativity, let alone Ronnie's pedestrian solos, live and in studio. Forum: Tell Me
Check out the movie "Festival Express," recorded in 1970 but released a few years ago. Has a lot of Band, plus Janis, Buddy Guy, and the Dead. Forum: Tell Me
I heard or read an interview about Brian's death once that said they were recording this song when they got a call at the studio that Brian had died and everyone was kind of shocked and Mick said "it goes on" and then did the vocal track for let it bleed. Anyone know if that is true? Forum: Tell Me
It is my favorite Stones song because in it they surpass all their influences--Muddy Waters could not have written it. My wife inscribed my wedding ring with "You can lean on me." Forum: Tell Me
The Killer is the best of all the Sun players. Great musical range. Just picked up a 3 LP Vinyl rarities set of his from Charly records. Forum: Tell Me
1. Sweethearts together
2. Sweet neocon
3. Fight
4. Too Much Blood
5. Don't hold Back (the onset of the disease where Mick feels he has to scream to prove he has not lost his youthful energy). Forum: Tell Me
Anyone else as disappointed as me this was somehow included on the "best of" I have probably only heard it 3 times since 1987 but always thouhgt it was stupid and remarkably un-stonesey. Boy George would be embarassed by this one. The video excacerbated the problem. Rest of the set is good but why not Hide Away for example? Forum: Tell Me
I picked up a still sealed copy of the Voodoo double LP, and it sounds great, but no Mean Disposition at the end (a cut I always wanted to hear on the B-Stage). Anybody know the story with that? Forum: Tell Me
I guess it was a few years ago everything started coming out with the censored "toilet seat" cover, but I think the "original" invite cover is better and fits the cool album better. Only came up because I wanted to give the CD to a young babe at work but the trashy cover seems a touch obnoxious.
Anybody else agree? Forum: Tell Me
I agree the early records don't get enough attention. My favorite is 12x5 mostly for Mona and That's How Strong.... Now is also great, and I likd DC, thouugh I think the critics put DC at the bottom of the early list. Forum: Tell Me
Anyone of those would do. There is a bunch of fluff on any of the Beatles "Classic" albums. There is nothing in Dylan's recorded work that indicates he would be a Beatles fan. Let alone Macca's solo stuff--and his insipid wives with their vegetarian frozen dinner lines and other hokey causes. Dylan is notoriously cagey in his interviews and saying he worships a cutey button li Forum: Tell Me
I may post a nice BC ticket for sale at a good price for a good fan with a health taste for drink and standing the whole show--row 29 right on the B-Stage aisle. I live in Seattle and got connected to 2 seats for Vancouver and am having trouble getting someone to go it is a holiday weekend. But I'll be there with gusto.
I have never figured out how to use/post on Shidoobe or woudl post t Forum: Tell Me
