GHS I agree is very underated and has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. Tracks like coming down again - its Kieth at his best. Dancing with MrD - love the incessant riff all the way through.Really there's not a bad track on it. Its problem is it followed Exile I guess. Dylan - Ive always loved Street Legal - I dont know whether you BD fans here like that one or not bu

great thread. I love the Punk era - I was the right age 15/16 in 77 and I will never forget hearing the opening chords of pretty vacant on the radio - what a fantastic record. Went to a few punk gigs in 77 and some of them were a bit on the wild side - I remember a lot of Punks also attended what might be called fringe gigs -once saw Eddie and the Hot Rods/Radio Stars/and Squeeze.I well remembe

Brussels affair is my favorite of all live stones boots - I also really like the Goats Head soup stuff a lot, and prefer this tour to the 72 tour. So I agree with the thread statement entirely!

Yes, I am a big Hunter/ Mott fan too. OpenG is right about Rant, which is excellent - amongst his best work. Always loved the 'Mott' album too -has a superb cover and its got 'Violence' on it which is a fave. Also, what about Welcome to the club - his live lp from about 1980 with Mick Ronson - I think that is a great set. Hunter plays London fairly regularly and I always ca

Chuck isnt my favorite either but if he didnt take a bow people would then say something about how the stones are so selfish to take the bow by themselves. He played, therefore he should take a bow! Darryl too!!!

I thought they did ok, cannot really go wrong wIth the setlist, and I liked the stripped down sound and look- Stage was good - they ought to think about a version of this for next time round - proof that you do not need all the attendant pryotechnics and back up. I was reminded of 1978 tour soundwise - a bit sloppy but pure Stones. Most of all I was jsut relieved that it got full coverage on TV h

Laphroag is lovely, so is Glenmoranjie. My job takes me to some interesting places round the uk - recently did a job at the Glenmoranjie Distillery and was given a tour round all the archives they have - barrels of Whiskey 20, 30 ,40 years old and more.Fantastic place. There is a guy there whose JOB is to taste the WHiskeys from the barrels and he identifies which ones are to go for 'spe

The Who are like the Stones - people are eager to write them off but every time they play live they wipe the floor with the competition - they did so at Live 8, and they probably will on this next tour too.A new CD is way overdue though so we may hope they showcase this a bit more than the Stones are doing with ABB

Clarkey wrote 'saw'em at Hammersmith in '86, only because the mighty Cheap Trick were supporting. I actually attempted to score a refund at the box-office on my way out after four numbers, but sadly to no avail' Right on the money Clarkey - I posted a similar rant in another crue thread last week- I too was at that show, Crue were shite, and I came out early as I only wa

Gazza wrote 'Sleep Tonight/ I think it's a frigging masterpiece and along with "One Hit", the high point of the album by a mile I dont know how ANY Stones fan and especially a Keith fan cant appreciate how beautiful that song is. Almost everyone I know loves it. I'm aware of it being regarded as one of his 'weaker' tracks' Your bang on here m

5 Songs minimum! Back of my hand / Rough Justice/ ONNYA/ Under the Radar/ Rain fall down. Stand by the albums boys, be proud of it, and promote it on the Tour thats supposed to doing just that. They should be opening with Rough Justice and setting the tone from that moment on.

I hope Mick reads it, the reviewer echos the thoughts of many die hard fans, mine included. As he rightfully points out, its the second time through the area on this tour, so really a great opportunity to shake it up a bit - dont agree with the Mediocre comments on the BB tunes though - a few more ABB tunes, and a few less 'Warhorses' is exactly what is needed. Having read it, I hope M

Not good news from where I sit. Dont come to Cardiff please! Saw them years ago on a double bill with Cheap Trick., and Motley were absolutely awful - the worst metal Ive ever seen. Cheap Trick blew them away totally - Cheap Trick is actually a much better band to open for the Stones if they are going to have the support of a well known older band -they still play great. Regarding the comment

The Beast maybe new to the posting but he has started with a good one, and what he says makes pretty good sense, but I dont think there will be a live album. A dvd will probably be out in time for Christmas. I agree with Kieth on the tracklisting -and I liked the Stripped and No security setlists in particular,LiveLicks maybe a bit lame, but the second cd does offer us hardcore fans a bit more of

Still playing it regularly, still enjoying it! It does run out of steam over the last 2/3 tracks. I do not understand the decison making on tracks - why the hell did they left Under the Radar off and laeve the likes of 'Look what the cat dragged in' on. UTR is a great song. Cat dragged in is not. All in all though, I think the album is a good one.

Pistols, DAMNED first 3 records, Only ones -all of them including Perrets 'the one'. Completely agree about the dolls, and LAMF being great records...also got to make a pitch here for Cheap Trick, and the Dictators. Trick have a solid back catalogue- first 3 especially good, but really apart from the doctor in 1986, its been pretty damn good every time. The new Dics live lp 'VIVA&

Compliments of the season to one and all. Just been listening to Aftermath, and I love the song 'Stupid Girl'- I reckon it would be a great one to cover now - they could give this one a real workover,in much the same way as they gave 'Shes so cold' a kick start. I remember a lady called Ellen Foley covered Stupid Girl years back, and it rocked out nicely (Ian Hunter and Mi

Yeah.My lady got me a massive book 'pleased to meet you' photos by Michael Putland of the stones throught the 70's, 80's - its fantastic - one of those Genesis publications books - they are bringing out Tour of the America 1975 early 2006 so I got to get saving or drop some hints to the Lady.. Not the last tour, I think they will carry on providing health issues dont get to be a problem. But the last tour on this scale - yes it probably will be.From now on they must be thinking of scaling down the length of time the tour takes. However, all this same stuff was said after licks tour, and the BTB tour , and the Voodoo tour etc etc..they will stop when death intervenes
