Blondie had basically become the 3rd guitar player. He's not really needed anymore if Mick Taylor is the 3rd guitar player!

Is anyone going to the Crowes show in Albany on October 15th?

Black Crowes in Albany on October 15th and I can't wait. Is anyone else out there going to that show?

I like that you are taking a major stand on how great this Crowes album is. I too feel very strongly about it and it is actually one of my favorite albums of all time. Its just a great album to play start to finish. So I am kind of with you here. This is their Exile album. Anyone out there that doesn't have it needs to get it. But as strongly as I feel about this Crowes album, I don&

I always liked this song and still do. I think VL is an underrated album.

Can someone who has bought this "new" one confirm if the sound and picture are noticably better?

I agree with 24FPS... Bill dominates the song. Its so much better hearing a Stones song with Bill on bass, and a great treat for a "new" Stones song to come out with Bill on bass.

If you look at the picture in the "Disturbing Picture of Ronnie" thread, you can see his roots and his hair does actually look real. Man, this is such a mystery if his hair is real!

What has changed is how much of the load Keith actually carries. I just got Live at the Max from Steel Wheels on Blue Ray and was watching it last night. What kept jumping out at me was the fact that even though in 1989/1990 there were all these extras on stage, Keith still dominated the show. It was HIS show. The amount he played was incredible, not even close to the amount he plays today.

I think it proves that it is NOT real. If it was real, Pete would not have bothered running his hands through Ron's hair. I think Pete thought about his own bald head, looked at the head of hair Ron amazingly has, and said to himself (and the world)... "Hmmmmm, now how can that be???".

QuoteRik QuoteAddicted They usually start on the east coast in early September... And if rehearsals start in July 2011, the first shows could be in early September. It's due to their fiscal year. It starts September 1st and ends August 31st. Now it seems they'll get everything from the upcomming tour within the time frame of one fiscal year. That saves them some money. they've be

Thanks. It was at micktaylor.net that I saw him playing in Phoenix that day instead of Buffalo.

The Mick Taylor site says on May 11th he is playing Phoenix, AZ (Skye). The Tralf's webite says he is playing the Tralf in Buffalo on May 11th. I have my ticket to the show that I bought when it was supposed to be in last July. Can anyone explain this? I just wanted to make sure I was really going to see him on May 11th in Buffalo. I'm not very comfortable that the Mick Taylor site

I was thinking it was part of all of this Exile stuff going on in May. Maybe the reason I have not heard much about a date and locations for the big screen is because that won't happen until the end of the year.

Quotedcba Newbie question : have they ever managed to top their fantastic 2nd album, "The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion"? That was always my favorite Black Crowes album by far. A great album to just put on and play from start to finish. But I think Before the Frost is even better. In my opinion, Southern Harmony is great, but it loses a little steam after the first 5-6 son

I'm talking about it being at the movie theather. I thought it was going to be on the big screen, even if possibly for one night only. I am wrong on this?

I think Before the Frost is outstanding. I think it IS their best album and its one of my favorite albums by any band. Its an album that you can just listen to the whole thing from start to finish. I have not seen the DVD, but would like to.

The Tralf in Buffalo was changed AGAIN. I bought tickets for it last year on the original date. First it said it was going to be moved to July 29th. Now its moved to May 11th. It doesn't matter, because neither date works for me. You know what date worked for me? The original date I bought a ticket for last July. I'm never going to see this guy. F*CK!

I agree, but I definitely like GHS and IORR much more than Black and Blue. And while I agree GHS and IORR are less Keith, there is definitely some real Mick Taylor highlights in there. And I'm a Keith guy.

In that Sticky Fingers through Tattoo You run of albums, the Black and Blue album was clearly the weak link (if there was one). Maybe its really about Keith being less of a force in the studio at that point due to drug use. Into the mid-70's Keith became more drugged up and less of a force in the studio. That was covered up some by the fact that Mick Taylor and Jagger were working toget

I can't knock Mick. If the Stones don't roll these days, its not because of Mick and Charlie. Its the guitar section that has fallen off the most. But I don't like how Mick's moves are so unnatural and planned out now. It used to just come to him and it was way cooler. Its not so cool when they are planned out. (Well, its cooler than every other lead singer... Its just

QuoteFrom4tilLate People who pine for Mick Taylor seem to not recognize that Mick T's playing was nothing without the iron fist of Keith chugging that unbelievable rhythm underneath him. Keith can't do that anymore. It wouldn't be '73 again. It would be a mess. Sacking Ronnie and bringing back Mick T wouldn't do a darn thing to slow the progress of Keith's arthritis.

I disagree when it comes to comparing Bridges to VL. I think Voodoo Lounge was a better album and tour. In my mind, Bridges tour clearly was the first time the Stones seemed a little older, a little slower, and a little less energy. Voodoo Lounge was still high energy, like the Steel Wheels tour, but not too polished like the Steel Wheels tour. Voodoo Lounge was the last tour Ronnie was still

QuoteRobertJohnson One of my favorite tunes. But here we have one of the main items (and unsolved problems) in this forum again: Who will do the solo at the end in a rock band which has no solo guitarist since '74? See the troubles with "Sway". I disagree that the band has not had a guitar player able to play a solo since 1974. (Although obviously not like Mick Taylor could.)
