Gazza, your points are right on the frigging money. It's amazing you have to spell it out. It's hilarious, "Chuck's piano ruins the sound...blah, blah, blah." Chuck plays EXACTLY what the Stones want to hear or he'd be gone. They like the sound so much that they've had him on stage with them for over 20 years. His keyboards are first class and sound great, throu

I'm looking at my Cobo stubb and a not torn New Barbarians ticket from Cincinnati. Why unused I have no idea. Maybe they forgot to tear it? Anyway, Cobo in Detroit the ticket says "April 28 1979 WABX & Brass Ring Announce: The Barbarians featuring Ron Wood, Keith Richards. Saturday Evening, 8:00 PM. $9.00." The Cincinnati ticket says "The New Barbarians", May 3

I bought mine on Sunday at the Best Buy in Dayton, Ohio after my golf game. Huge display of everything Stones right when I walked in the door. It cost half what my golf game cost, and the way I played Sunday, it was definitely a better bargain. I love the DVD, of course. I always love to watch Stones footage, my one great weakness. I'm easy to please, I can't believe they are still t

I'm in the Forty Licks DVD at Circus Crone during the Otis Redding song. I have to slow motion it, but when I do there's no doubt. I'm in that DVD from St. Louis, was that Bridges or Voodoo? It was the one from the HBO special. Anyhow, I don't have to slow that one down, me and my buddy are clear as a bell. It's not a DVD, but I bought that Genesis book about the 75

Riverfront Colosium in Cincinnati,Ohio, and Cobo Arena in Detroit, MI were both quick sell outs. I was on the floor at both shows and they were wild. I still have that crazy, officially sanctioned, "Ear-To-Ear Violence" T-shirt they sold at the concerts. Plus 35mm photos and silent film. Those were wild concerts, everybody was thrilled. I remember the rumours of guests showing up (Dylan

Hi Mathijs, it has been my understanding that Keith wrote this song. I beleive Mick has said as much in interviews I've read through the years. I've always assumed that Keith wrote the song on piano, as opposed to the guitar, due to the chord structure. Ever noticed Keith palying piano on Ruby Tuesday on Ed Sullivan? I've always felt this was somewhat telling. I've always g

It seems Mick continues to be very motivated and driven. And God bless him. My guess is most Stones fans always root for his success. Whether he achieves it or not is in the ears of the beholder. I will always have faith that Keith still has a bunch of great songs in him, just waiting to get out. I wish Mick and Keith were working together. The simple and sad fact is, they can't stand

Too Many Cooks (Spoil The Soup) by Mick is actually a cover of the R&B hit by the soul band "100 Proof Aged In Soul" on the Hot Wax label. The song charted on the Top 100 in December of 1969. I have this single and it is definitley the one Mick covers. This song was not written by Willie Dixon.

THANK YOU, UrbanSteel. Fantastic. I've got the Some Girls eight track and the eight track player, but what a hassle.....but this is just great. By the way, I may be wrong for I do not recall ever hearing this cited before........but I'm almost sure that the Sister Morphine track off the Sticky Fingers 8-track is an entirely different take. Not a different mix, but a different, earlie

Lately my favorite open G song to bang around on is "I'm Going Down". What an awesome riff that one is. Turn it up! "Too Tough", as well.

Only those are reported under ASCAP. I'll check BMI. By the way, how many Nanker-Phelge credits are there? There's always been a bit of a discrepancy when I've checked in the past. I believe I found a difference once between credits on USA vs UK records, for example. Can you or someone list the Nanker-Phelge credited songs? Thanks.

Nanker-Phelge credits did indeed include Ian Stewart. Look it up. ASCAP web site. Stu has four song credits under the Ameican Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. 1) Boogie With Stu (all 4 Zeps, Mrs. Valens and Stu are credited as authors.) 2) Little By Little (all 5 Stones inc William Perks and Brian Dawson Jones etc, Stu, and Phil Spector 3) Now I've Got A Witness (all 5 Stone

Yes that's Wembley. This one of the songs that they re-shot some close-ups, for the At The Max release. Certain parts you can tell by comparing the "sweat" on Keith's shirt. I remember the production team during the reshoot, which was done on stage at Wembley to an empty stadium. Anyway, they were spraying Keith's shirt with a water bottle to try and match it from the f

I used to know the exact number, but I've lost track the past several tours. I'll have to dig up my tickets and passes. I've seen approximately 50 shows, give or take a couple, since my first in 1975. 49 years old and holding.

This story recently came to light due to the story being published in the latest edition of the fantastic Hendrix fanzine, "Univibes". I will quote from Univibes issue #52, August 2006 edition, page 17: Some interesting tape news from Deering Howe: "After the Stones show, on November 27, 1969 at MSG, Mick, Jimi, Colette and Devon showed up at my apartment in Hotel Navarro around

I arrived home last night from being out of town all week, and lo and behold, my deluxe "Starship" edition was waiting for me, leaning on my front door. I've got all the Genesis Stones books (Contact, Blinds, Exile, Woodie, Wyman etc. etc)..........but I have to say, this thing is outrageous. It is by far my favorite Genesis book. Tons of unbelievable, never seen before, color p

Wild Horses was the second 45 released by the Stones on the Rolling Stones Records label. It charted top 30.....Sway was the B-side, with a different mix at that.

If you add up Bigger Bang and Jump Back, the Stones are #96 last week. And that's not counting any other catalogue sales. It is amazing how little product the band is moving, while on the road. Then again, they're in their 60's. Look at that chart....who will still be on the charts, with current product, when they are over 60 years old? Nobody. That's my hunch, anyway.

Gazza, I remember that day being rainy. I don't remember it being hot at all. I'm sure I had a jacket on. The film I shot is the worst of the 4 films because I was too far away. Idid have a zoom on the camera which helped a little. I haven't watched that Philly footage in years and years. I remember seeing a sort of mime act running around the stage right before they started, dress

then 1978 and BOOM!!!!!!! Yup, that's how it was. I was so happy with the monster sales and chart positions of that record that summer. Me and my buddies had a blast....blasting that record out of our dorms. It really dominated the air waves for several months. As far as "how did I get the movie camera in JFK", that was no problem what-so-ever. I just either carried it in or

the Stones REALLY were threatened by that '76-'77 punk movement Leaonard, I really feel this is a fact. And, in my view, that fear and urgency lead to the Stones producing some great tracks....when many had written them off for good. People don't seem to remember how badly received Black And Blue and Love You Live were. I loved them at the time. Especially B&B and side fou

I always thought that the 78 tour was under rated! Shows what I know. That tour had an intensity about it that is hard to explain unless you were there. It seemed as if the whole show could collapse at any moment and turn into utter chaos. Actually, I think at a couple of shows, it did just that! That tour had an edge to it. No doubt about it. I just looked it up and, unless I'm mistaken,
