Quotejamesfdouglas Now you'll hear most people here tell you that every thing they do is better than everything out there. If' you're a musician, you'll know that while they are a great, fun live band with a great early period of songwriting genius, much of the praise they get, especially in the last 10-15 years, must be taken in context of apologetical worship than actual t

QuoteGreen LadyThis question occurred to me (a non-musician, who has NO experience of trying to play anything by the Stones) while watching a Stones tribute band – how technically difficult are the Stones’ songs to play, compared to other rock/pop/blues? Can the musicians on this board enlighten me? People are always saying that Keith’s not a technically brilliant guitarist – is it one

Quotefarawayeyes2why should we put this poor guy so down in a rolling stones forum, what's the connection? ahah He looks like George Bush anyway. I didn't post this to put the guy down. It just seemed like a really weird video of a guitar player. Make your own mind up as to whether it's good or bad and in what sense, lol!

Well, I didn't post this to extol the merits of the Squire Telecaster Custom (Which I personally think is a GREAT guitar for the money), I posted it 'cos I couldn't understand how anyone could demo any guitar in such a way. It looks odd and IMHO the guitar is being played in a very strange way. IMHO, the drum machine in the background may be the best part of this video - isn

I use Mackie Traction. I've tried a lot of different ones and I prefer Traction. Magix Music Maker and Magix Music Studio are good too and you can get free trials and also buy the older programs at a reasonable cost. Some versions are given away free. Here's a link:-

Well, it's possible to play open-g with six strings don't forget. You just tune the sixth string to D or you may prefer to tune it to G.

Quoteopen-gGreat to see some unknown stuff. thanks for posting. ...but - somehow I'm glad Keith stuck more to the guitar, LOL Yes it's great to see these, and you're right about Keith. He's got all the strings but he can't seem to tune them to open g, or even standard tuning.... I think the strings may be too thick too, but that's another story............

QuotebvThe policy of IORR is clearly written here: "Talk about your favorite band". I am very tolerant and I do accept virtyally any non-Stones related posts within limits, but please beware of the fact that any posts who are not related to the Stones may be deleted at any time. Why? Simply because first of all if there are too many off-topics there are no real on-topic (annoying),

QuotetoomuchformeJelle, you are free not to read the bullfighting thread if you do not like it. But why not deleting topics about Bon Jovi ? This guy is a danger for rock'n'roll. That's an interesting viewpoint toomuchforme, but I'd rather watch Bon Jovi than a bullfight....lol
