I checked the ticketmaster website and it looks like they're playing BC Place concert bowl so around 25-30 thousand seat capacity. Ticket prices range from around $120 to over $400! After I saw that, I thought forget it! I just saw them in late 2007 in Vancouver with Motley Crue and those tickets were only $150 for GM Place club seats!

Hi Guitarbastard. I wasn't actually implying that Canada lost because they couldn't bring all their stars. I realize most of the countries had stars that couldn't play because of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Russia would have been alot tougher if they had Ovechkin, Semin and Malkin!

Congrats to Russia for beating Canada in the World Championships. It's too bad they're on the same time the playoffs are because many of the best can't make it.

My Hawks eliminated Vancouver last night. Now I hope that Detroit and Anaheim goes 7 games so the winner is banged up and tired! I'd love to see a Chicago vs. Boston finals or else Pittsburgh.

I believe SACD fared better out of the two. DVD Audio sounded better over conventional CD but was more just 5.1 for the home theatre crowd. SACD was a whole new technology and more for the audiophile. Mobile Fidelity still issues back catalog albums in SACD. I get regular email updates notifying me of new releases.

Hi Tippy. I don't live in Vancouver but out in the Fraser Valley. I was in high school when BC Place opened so all of the stats are from memory. Lots of my friends went to the shows I mentioned. I still have the newspaper ads promoting the Bowie, Supertramp as well as Simon and Garfunkel shows at BC Place. They took up the whole page and I got them laminated so they still look good. I

Hey Tippy, actually there are others that sold out BC Place. Jackson's did three shows in 84 on their Victory Tour, although they drew a total of 95000. Also U2 sold out BC Place in the past and Madonna just sold out a few months ago. First show ever at BC Place was Bowie on his Serious Moonlight tour in 83 and he sold out. I remember he also did two shows at the Coliseum later on that

Hi Voodoo. In regards to BluRay, I don't have one yet, although they've come down alot in price. I think Sony's plans are to have the BluRay eventually replace regular DVD's.

I'm surprised these shows are booked so late. There's pretty much a five month gap between their last American shows and these. At this point, I guess they can add additional American shows,do some more European shows then hit the Far East or perhaps some South American stadium shows. Looking at how spread out the Australia/NZ shows are, I'm sure they're anticipating adding

I think going forward that Sony will concentrate on perhaps BluRay audio and make that the new high audio standard instead of their SACD?

I thought his girlfriend is that tall blonde British girl? She was in his concert video from Albert Hall a couple years ago, marching during Rhythm of my Heart. I know Paul Rodgers was living in White Rock with his girlfriend but my brother told me he's now living in Summerland in the Okanagan with her.

I think with the Chicago sessions, they were trying to get that Spector "Wall of Sound" feel so songs like Mercy, Under Assistant and That's How Strong have the big boomy bass sound to them. I prefer this sound to the flat sound of Hitch Hike.

They weren't necessarily limited edition but subsequent editions are dsd remasters which means they don't have the SACD layer. I still see the digipak versions occasionally in local record stores but newer versions of all the ABKCO releases are in regular jewel packs.

Hey Tippy,I believe from previous posts you live in Vancouver? Are you going to the GM Place show? I'm not going but I did get AC/DC tickets and I'm going to see Chickenfoot at the Commodore next month.

Team Canada will dominate the World Cup! It's actually a good consolation for NHL players who's teams don't make the Stanley Cup. Unfortunately, it's on at the same time as the Stanley Cup playoffs so it doesn't get nearly the viewership although if Canada makes the finals, it'll draw a good viewing audience.

You can't even hear the piano on the mono mix of satisfaction, but on the London stereo release from the mid 80's, the acoustic and piano are clear on the right track.

Once again, the Sharks choke! As I mentioned previously, this series was a potential upset. I'm glad the Hawks won. This next series against Vancouver should be a good one. Although I live near Vancouver, I've always been a Hawks fan.

It's getting harder to find SACD's nowadays, although Mobile Fidelity is still issuing them. Dark Side of the Moon hybrid SACD sounds awesome in 5.1. Oasis What's the Story sound way better than the regular CD.

The top attraction in Canada for this Summer is definitely AC/DC. They're doing 5 stadium and one outdoor show (Moncton, where the Stones played). All the stadium shows are sold out and I've read they've sold approximately 60,000 for the Moncton show. Approximate numbers: Vancouver 55000 Edmonton 55000 Regina 38000 Winnipeg 45000 Montreal 50000.

I'm surprised Jeff didn't walk off stage!! They've had a tumultuous friendship over the years. As Jeff said, they have a love/hate relationship. Rod loves me and I hate him! Wouldn't it have been great if Ronnie joined them, too! They toured together very briefly in 1984 on Rod's tour but after only a few shows on the west coast, Jeff left, shortly after a show in th

AC/DC at BC Place in Vancouver late August. Also, Chickenfoot, the new band with Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani and Chad Smith of the Chilipeppers. They're playing the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver next month. Only doing a handful of shows in North America before going to Europe.

Hi Timbernardis. Enmax Center in Lethbridge is a small hockey arena, holding approximately 6500. I'm sure every seat in the house is pretty good.

Hawks are up 2-0! As I mentioned, the Sharks could be in big trouble against Anaheim. It's going to be tough to win 4 of the next 5 games, although not impossible. If Anaheim wins, then it looks like the Hawks will face Vancouver, which I'd rather not see. Living near Vancouver, everyone is a Canucks fan and they're playing really well right now. I'd rather see the Canuck

I can't believe they sold out! I ended up getting tickets in the upper deck for BC Place. This will be my 8th show. It's hard to believe the popularity of the band now versus any other time in their career. The last time they played Vancouver on the SUL tour, they did 2 shows at the Coliseum and drew around 23000 according to the Billboard Boxscores. Both shows still had a few tick

One thing Aerosmith has done in the past several years is team up with other major acts for some great tours. They toured with KISS, Motley Crue, Cheap Trick and now ZZ Top. When I saw them a year and a half ago with Motley, Tom Hamilton wasn't touring due to a medical condition.

Hi Tippy. It's August 29 at BC Place. It's going to be one humid night. I'm actually surprised they're playing the full stadium set up. When they played BC Place in 1988, they did a concert bowl setup where the stage was mid field. I seriously doubt they'll sell the place out. I'll definitely be there, having missed the show late last year. Since they're p

Can't wait for tonight's opening match between the Flames and my favorite Chicago Blackhawks! First time in several years the Hawks are in the playoffs! Sharks might have trouble against Anaheim. Could be a big first round upset there!
