The promo videos from GHS/IORR show The Stones at their most glam-ish period IMO. Both the music and the make up/outfits made them fit the times. Look at Mick Taylor in those videos (Dancing With Mr. D., Till The Next Goodbye, Silver Train etc.) Hilarious!

My mum played Tattoo You for me. I´d never heard anything like it. Before that I was really into The Beatles, but this stones-stuff really blew me away. I was 12 years old, and was hooked on Mick´s voice and Keith´s guitar...

He plays standard tuning on Sticky Fingers. Mick Taylor plays the nashville tuned guitar. The electric guitar (w the solos) is also in standard tuning.

How do you get the dark tone in F# in the opening riff with openG? Rocks Off is clearly played in standard tuning.

<Bridges To Babylon. *> Do you really think the St. Louis-show was that bad?? IMO much better than Stones in the park, Live At The Max and Voodoo Lounge from Miami.

Still Life? Flashpoint? IMO, both very representative for their live sound at the time.

The riff is played exactly the same whatever tuning (standard or OpenG). But with openG you've got more strings ringing.

Keith is alternating between the G pentatonic blues scale (the start), the A pentatonic country scale (when the songs turns to A) and the D pentatonic country scale (when they change to D). Finally, he plays the last part of the solo in the G pentatonic country scale, not following the chord change with a change to D in the end. Puuh - this was the easiest way for me to describe it anyway
