Hi Mike, Sorry to hear that they didn't knock it outta the NEC. I am now ultra choosey about how good my seat will be: if it isn't gonna be close then I will probably pass (HP 1 an honourable exception!). You can't legislate for loud @#$%& though (it's not a medical condition- I've checked) and I cannot understand people making the effort and paying the money to see t

QuoteNaturalust Nice report and great photos Simon, thanks! That set list looks fantastic. Also looks like Pete pretty much played the same guitar all night. Is that right and was he on acoustic for a few numbers? Very nice that they also thanked the crew, something I've never heard the Stones do. peace Hi Nl, Nope, no acoustic for Townshend Sr., although Si did on occasion.

Hello, I know it's a bit late but here is my take on the Leeds show from two nights ago. Before I crack on, thanks for the comments: if one IORRian finds this guff either entertaining or useful, then it's worth the effort! And so to my match report for last night’s show at the 12,000 seat bowl-like Leeds Arena…yeah, I bet you’ve been counting the minutes, hah-hah! Well, how much c

Hello, It was great to walk in to the Hydro with no search which meant no camera drama and after getting an ale I hear someone call my name out and it's only Jayne (the much better-half of Alec) who are Moon-era fans and who I see purely by chance at every Who show, hah-hah! Nice to catch-up, and the same applies to Gordon and his son. Between the two of us, I think we had this show cover

Hello, Although I still enjoy Planty's collaboration with Ms Krauss a tad more than his latest LP featuring this superbly talented bunch of Space Shifters, this was always nailed-on to be a tremendous show, mainly because Robert still remembers just how much we love Zeppelin. And to keep himself interested he has found new arrangements for the songs that he has sung a million times over a

Hi Still, Juan and Mr., Yep, Barrence mentioned Andy K. during the show...in fact he was meant to turn-up and do a DJ warm-up set but had to cancel because of the 'flu. Great story about buying a Stones LP only to have the great man serve you, hah-hah! You've hit the nail etc...that's exactly why I cherish the folk who post way more than I do, because I have read so much i

Hi Mr DJA, Sorry- I shouldn't have used my usual abbreviations...the JJR was the Jim Jones Revue. I say 'was' because they played their last show a couple of months back. They were a one-trick pony, but a very enjoyable one. Again YouTube will give plenty of examples of their work! Cheers, Simon.

Hello, From the band's own LP cover: "A soul screamer of the highest order. The Savages lay down a groovvy racket so thick and greasy, you'll need a moist towelette near the hi-fi." Hard to argue based on last night's steamrollerin'! 80 minutes for £13? Blimey Maisey. There were elements of The Stooges & MC5 as well as the more obvious influences. Mr W. obvi

Hello, What a terrific show! The curtain drew to show a flat dressed circa 1973 with two figures in a double bed, a la Eric and Ernie. After a montage of clips from a projector they got up and made some breakfast, all the while enjoying the audience alternately laughing and cheering! Difford and Tilbrook then played two or three numbers in their PJs which the latter said was still odd, even

Hello, Squeeze, tomorrow night in Salford. Barrence Whitfield on Wednesday in Liverpool. Robert Plant a week later in Blackpool. The Who in Glasgow (no ticket yet) on Nov 30th and again two days later in Leeds. Chrissie Hynde in Manchester on Dec 15th. Quite partial to live music. Eating, clothing myself and paying the rent...not so much, hah-hah! Cheers, Simon.

Hi alhavu1, 'Fraid not: the current Animals lineup is: John Steel - drums Mick Gallagher - keyboards Danny Handley - guitar, vocals Scott Whitley - vocals, bass Make no mistake that it would be something else to hear E.B. back again, but that ain't happening anytime soon by the looks of it. These guys are tremendous players though. Recommended! Cheers, Simon.

Hello, This was pretty much the same show that I saw in the same venue 18 months ago and similarly it felt like a privilege to see The Colonel play once again. Who cares if he spends a fair amount of time telling stories of how his songs came about (he was onstage until just past 11pm!) because when he plays off the super-tight Animals he rolls back the years. Speaking of which, those guys

Hello, This was my fourth time seeing Motorhead and the second time that I have seen The Damned support them, so I knew what I was letting my ears in for, hah-hah! What I didn't know was that there was another opening act: The BossHoss, who are an eight or nine piece from Berlin and who play high energy Country, R & R, covers and generally leave nothing behind. A lot of fun and a grea

Hello, My first time seeing Ms Crow: I don't possess even one song by her but it was the reasonable ticket price (£35) and the small-ish capacity venue (1500 standing) that swayed me. I'm glad I was swayed! Sheryl and her six bandmates were onstage at 8.30pm as advertised and we made a very welcoming racket before she had sung a note: cue big smiles all round! For a relatively sma

Hello, Talk about partisan crowds, hah-hah! He is more of a natural front-man than you might imagine too, although he could've recited the phone book and still would have had an ovation. He knows what this Saturday night crowd wanted to hear and duly one third of the set list was a Smiths song: throw in his Electronic single and a terrific run through 'Lust For Life' and you
