Quotestraycat58 I didn't write people must sit at their numbered place. Don't get me wrong. We want to go back to the sixties? girls crying and shouting like mad? I just ask people don't bother me and don't disturb the sound. No problem if everybody brings his wife, makes sex; But no screaming or sexual grunts please

It's just a shame The Rolling Stones weren't there to perform, after all, it is the Stones who where inducted into the Hall of Fame, not just Mick Jagger.

I've never been a Mick Hucknall fan, not one bit - maybe it is something to do with his crap songs, but he's done a good job on this clip. An excellent job in fact. I think it sounded great.

I would think Memory Motel came first. Black and Blue was 1976, Hotel California was 77 I think. I alway think Memory Motel is about a girl (obvious really). I'd say Hotel California is more about the place and the lifestyle, drink, drugs, etc. Although HC talks about a girl specifically I don't think that's what it's about. Is Memory Motel written about Carly Simon or i

QuoteGuĂ°ni Gunnarsson As long as we're talking about them switching vocals in certain songs, I have this crazy image in my head of Mick Jagger doing "Take It So Hard". I know it will never happen but I think it would be brilliant. And Keith could sing "Lets Work"

Go see as many folk as you can afford to. You'll only regret it in years to come that you never took the chance while it was there. I've seen many bands that I wasn't too bothered about and came away glad that I went. Likewise there's been many a gig that I've been desperate to go to and come away disapointed. You wont know 'till you go!

QuoteFour Stone Walls For me SW tour and album was the climax to the end of an era - their last good band album and the last tour of the old period - with Bill. Interesting, because I think of Steel Wheels to be the start of a new era, but yes it was Bill's last studio album. I wonder if he thought of it as being the end of an era too?

It's 20 years since Steel Wheels was released. (I think it was August 1989 that it was released). I always consider this album to be the first of the 'new albums' and it seems scary that it was 20 years ago now. At the time the Stones where considered to be ageing rockers and who would have thought that they would still be around in 2009? For me Steel Wheels is a very important a

It depends where you read, but according to The Sun Ronnie and Ekaterina have moved in together into the new place. And also Ronnie isn't working with The Stones, but unexpectedly with The Faces instead.

Mick Taylor a couple of times, first time was after a show with John Mayall 3 or 4 years ago. I got autographs from Mick and John. John Mayall was cool. I met him on the way into the show and had a good conversation. 2nd time I met MT was on his way into a show in Glasgow a few weeks ago.

It does all tie in quite nicely, Keiths book finishes with him being back in the Studio again and preparing for a new tour that will conclude on the band's 50th aniversary. The book will read something like "it feels as fresh and exciting as it did ?? years ago", and the great big Rolling Stones publicity machine fires up for one last time. I'm in! Where do I send my money?

QuoteElmo Hands up how many will now be watching SCD for the first time because there is a tenuous Stones connection. I mean, it's not as if Charlie will be dancing with Lilia.... By the way, did you know that the British 'celebrity' chef Arthur Potts Dawson is MJ's nephew? God, I'll be glad when the new YaYas is out, this celebrity stuff gets on my strings! M

QuoteHarlem Shuffler And what about Something Else? Keith did this at a Spanish Festival of Guitars - some name like that - in the '90s, I think. I love the in-your-face drumming on Eddie's original that demands your attention. Having heard The Stones cover Twenty flight Rock and Keith in Spain, I bought a "Best of" and could not stop playing Something Else. Eddie Cochra

I think they didn't release it at the time because the Stones weren't happy with their own performance having been up for over a day and a half. I don't know why they thought this, I think it's realy good. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

The food is nothing special but it's worth going to if you are a stones fan. I also remember that they had coctails named after stones songs. It's not too far from Hyde park and there are loads of busses run along to Hyde Park from there.

Quoteletitloose Off to see him tomorrow in Glasgow for the first time. Would love some advice about the following: What time should I get there? I'm assuming he will play from about 8pm. Do the stadiums tend to fill up early. Its a Tuesday and I have work then baby-sitter to wait for. Is it easy to manouvre your way relatively close to the front of the pitch without being an ar**hole.
