I know this has been addressed but I just went over to the Shidoobee site and they are pretty much holding a wake for the tour. It's very strange. How could anyone have so much time on their hands as to be able to write post after post after post about what a "disaster" the ticket sales are and how some stadiums will only be an 1/8th-filled and how well Paul McCartney and U2 are

I must admit that it is almost impossible for me to come up with a set list and include everything I would like to hear, but I have always been fascinated by the choice of opening song. I think ideally it should be something known, and not new ("Brown Sugar" in 1972 and "Start Me Up" in 1981 being notible exceptions...they were instant radio hits), but they've pretty muc

It wasn't a joke....music is a very subjective thing. I can't help the way it hit my ears. Gosh, some of you can be so vicious. I see I am in the vast minority in my opinion of the song, but how about being happy that it made someone else happy, for heaven's sake. It is just a song, after all, even if the only two people who like it are Mick Jagger and myself (and I was no fan

I must say, it's been very seldom that a Rolling Stones song has brought tears to these old eyes but I've just listened to "Streets Of Love" three times and I am so moved by it, I can hardly express it......I love "Rough Justice;" FINALLY the Faces Meet the Rolling Stones...Ronnie, you're incredible...this one could have been on "Exile on Main Street".

My thanks to all of you who replied! Yes, I have the confirmation numbers and the tickets were printed and sent...sent where, I don't know. I spoke with someone at Ticketmaster about the tickets and was told what dates they were sent and I should have received them LONG ago. Items as valuable as tickets should be sent certified mail so that you sign for them, methinks!

I ordered 4 tickets to Charlotte, 2 tickets to Charlottesville through Ticketmaster and have now been told that ALL OF THEM "must have been lost in the mail"! They had my correct address...now I have to wait until 48 hours before the shows to get a number to give at the box-office to get the tickets AT the shows. I HATE travelling to the shows without the tickets in my hands...this is

...Keith, what I wouldn't give to hear you play this...just you and an acoustic guitar...after you're introduced. It would be the show-stopper of the night. The entire stadium would hush..... I hope you will think of this and "So Sad to Watch a Love Go Bad/Kathy's Clown." I have AIDS and this will be the last time I'll ever see you. I guess you could say thi

If Taylor had been with the Rolling Stones for the past 30 years, instead of Ron Wood, they would be playing places like the Who and Bob Dylan play...sheds, House of Blues, minor-league baseball parks. They'd also probably be on Sanctuary Records, like Robert Plant. End of story.

I was merely responding to what was reported in the San Francisco paper...that's all. I'm glad to hear that things AREN'T as reported, sometimes. Why do the papers report such rubbish if it's not true (selling twice as many U2 tickets as Stones tickets in the same time-frame, tickets selling moderately, etc.)? I know Altamont isn't IN San Francisco...but it's in

Why did U2 sell out SF in a flash, and the Rolling Stones can't sell tickets there? Not a Stones town anymore? It seems impossible to get a handle on how ticket sales are going over all...one source says they're being "snapped up" another source saying the're "not moving as expected." All I know is Charlotte doesn't have anything left and Charlottesville

I met Ronnie at his art exhibit at Govinda Gallery in Washington, D. C., in 1988. He was so sweet and kind, very humble. I'll never forget it.

I was an "after 5/9" member but I joined the Fan Club as I bought my tickets on the LICKS tour and got 10th row seats for Atlanta....I started right when they went on sale this time, just like last time, but Ticketmaster threw out the order for one hour and fifteen minutes for no reason I could gather. I want to get tickets for Charlottesville, Virginia, a stadium show, but since I alr

I ordered tickets through the fan club for Charlotte the morning they went on sale and now have the worst seats for any Stones concert that I have attended in 30 years....the top tier in the back of the arena, Row L. Ridiculous.

Yeah, but you guys have one thing that we never have over here...really great, enthusiastic audiences! It always seems here as if half the audience is there to get drunk and wander around outside. They're up for the first song then that's about it...off to the beer stand. Plus everyone always starts streaming out before the encore to avoid the traffic!

They've used truck, train, boat, car, and blimp...that's about it for land, sea, and air...what could they possibly use this time around?

Beth Hart has the greatest set of pipes since Janis Joplin and Aretha Frankilin...she's unbelievable. Probably why she's not popular...she's not a homogenized watered-down no-talent like Britney Spears. Ah, the injustice of the marketplace. It would be incredible if she opened some dates on the tour...and came out to sing a song with Mick. By the way, I heard Velvet Revolve

I didn't even know that this CD had been released LAST YEAR. I don't remember seeing a News item on this site...I must have missed it. Anyway....GREAT double CD...all instumental...I've already bought three copies for friends. It's available for $17.79 at the local record store.

Considering some places like D.C. among other places had a hard time selling tickets last time, and the fact that U2 is on the road this fall also, I'm concerned that this last tour might be a bust. I mean, they really don't have very much new stuff to draw on anymore and everyone knows it will be the same songs as it always is (the new album doesn't count...most people won't

I have a feeling that the Rolling Stones see this as their last album and they want to kind of go full circle with it...those who are left from the first will be those doing the work on the last...Mick, Keith and Charlie. The 3 survivors. Why else would Mick and Keith actually be writing songs together, at Charlie's behest, for the first time in decades? I love Ronnie and have always wi

Actually, the version I have is Keith and an acoustic guitar...obviously fooling around whilst awaiting other bandmembers, or after said bandmembers had left...I have no idea when it was recorded...I got it off the Internet about 3 or 4 years ago. I really wish someone would get word to him about doing it...it's probably too late for the record...but live would be wonderful!! (Wishful,

Has anyone ever heard the bootleg of this? I think it's the most beautiful, moving thing he's ever recorded and would give ANYTHING if he'd record a version for the new record. Someone get word to him, please? (Stones should do Jr. Walker & the All-Stars "Shotgun" with Bobby Keys this tour!)

I think that for the type of songs that Keith writes now, Lanois would be perfect. And I don't think Emmylou's "Wrecking Ball" is dated at all...that style permeates a lot of relatively recent records. Listen to Emmylou's "Red Dirt Girl," or Patty Griffin's "Impossible Dream" or Beck's "Sea Change." I could name many more. I lik

Don Was was hired by Mick probably because of his success at the time with Bonnie Raitt's album "Nick of Time." I'm sure Mick thought, as he always does, that the hot "producer du jour" (e. g.,Steve Lillywhite, Nile Rodgers, Rick Rubin, Dust Brothers, Wyclef Jean, Neptunes, Bill Laswell/Material, Paul Oakenfold) would give them, or him, a radio hit or at least a dan
