QuoteFour Stone Walls Never understood why they didn't your to support it '80-81. And SG had only had an American leg, and a rather. Europe got nothing from '76-82. We're the Twins already fractious in 1980? 100% they were fractious in 1980. The two had a falling out about the mixes for the album. Keith's song "All About You" was secretly written abo

QuoteTooTough I collect US/UK/Germany. I chose to do so because of Dieter Hoffmann´s Weißbuch. That was my guide in the pre-internet days. So get the Before They make Me Run Promo 7", but beware of cover imitations. Get the 7" jukebox EPs for Goat´s Head Soup and Exile, both with cover and jukebox stripes. I've read you can tell the counterfeit copies of "Before

QuoteJfk19562003 I have all the U.S. copies except Too Tough. Too Tough is an interesting one. I was always under the assumption it was released as a single in the US in 1984. After doing some research I found that it was a reissue of "Miss You" as the A-side and "Too Tough" as the B-side. It was reviewed as a single in Billboard in the Aug 11, 1984 issue and states it a

Since this pandemic started, I decided I wanted to start collecting all of the Stones American 45's (including ones with the picture sleeves). I've managed to purchase most of the US 45's and some of the UK ones as well. Obviously a couple are EXTREMELY rare to find with the picture sleeve. A few years ago I won an auction on eBay for the very rare "Dandelion/We Love You"

I'll be honest, I'm not a fan of STILL LIFE b/c it's so short. It's not a good representation of the '81 tour imo b/c there's only 10 songs of the 25 songs usually performed. It should have been a double album. Here's how I would have made the album better... Side 1: Intro: Take the 'A' Train Under My Thumb When the Whip Comes Down Let's

Anyone else hearing a Brown Sugar type riff in there? Definitely agree though it sounds more like the 94-97 period.

These are the Stones tunes I could think of at the top of my head where Mick has dabbled in a hip-hop/rap vocal style: Cops and Robbers Memo From Turner (Solo) Miss You Shattered Too Much Blood Anybody Seen My Baby? Gunface

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteJordyLicks96 Just a small question if anyone is able to answer it for me. The US singles off of BLACK AND BLUE are: A-side: Fool To Cry B-side: Hot Stuff and A-side: Hot Stuff B-side: Fool To Cry Why would they use Fool To Cry as the B-side to Hot Stuff after it was already an A-side? Were they actually just a double A-sided single and I'm looking at it

QuoteGasLightStreet The 8-track Miss You is different from the album and edit versions we know so well - it almost sounds more like the 12" remix shortened. Think that's possible? I need to listen to that one, Shattered and BTMMR all the way through, get 'em on my player. Funny enough, every edit and/or mix of Miss You stems from one complete, long version of the song, which

Appreciate this a lot GasLight!! I know One Hit (To the Body) has a particular single edit and a slightly different mix in a few spots. I believe it's the one they used for the music video. Brown Sugar and Tumbling Dice have very rare mono mixes which were only released on the 45 singles. Tumbling Dice in particular has very clear vocals and some of the backing vocals in the latter p

QuoteGasLightStreet I've often wondered who determines the edits and fadeouts, actual remixes (like the Don't Stop Rock Mix) - is it Mick? That is something that's never talked about, to my knowledge anyway, about why certain versions are the way they are (like the other version of Love Is Strong and I Go Wild that are slightly different from the LP mixes). I've always wonde

Quotetomcasagranda It has to be Goats Head Soup. GHS has the right sense of post party comedown, and seems a natural successor to Sticky Fingers. I always maintain Exile On Main Street was a glorious anomaly, and not a successor to Sticky Fingers. Goats Head Soup is the Stones as mature artists, something they were unable to maintain, but Winter, Coming Down Again, 100 Years Ago, are so differ
