QuoteMelBelli Extended clip of SMU from Hannover, 1990, pro shot by German TV. Judging from camera angles and positioning, it looks like this was the source of the IORR clip, posted above, that was broadcast on the International Music Awards? Nope. The clothes are different!

Is it true that they haven't had a #1 in the UK since 1969?!?!!?!?!?! UK #1's ‘It’s All Over Now’ (1964) ‘Little Red Rooster’ (1964) ‘The Last Time’ (1965) ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction (1965) ‘Ge

Quoteslewan Tom Petty's version of 'Boogie Chillen' featuring John Lee Hooker is much better than the Rolling Stones' version at Atlantic City 89 The aimlessness of that version had a lot to do with John Lee Hooker himself!

QuoteKingbeebuzz Keith has obviously forgotten about "Tell Me" and "Little By Little" which totally contradict what he said in the interview. A lot of mythology around the Jagger/Richards songwriting origin story.

Mick tried that, more or less, on Goddess in the Doorway: collabs with Bono, Lenny Kravitz, Wyclef Jean, and Rob Thomas himself. Needless to say, it did not work out as planned.

Quotebye bye johnny Producer Ron Aniello gets the bass credit, not Garry Tallent. He also played guitar, drums, keyboards "and more". I haven’t loved everything he and Bruce have come up with going back to Wrecking Ball, but Aniello is a great talent.

There’s a great story in the book about the recording of the title track of “Some Girls.” Chris Kimsey: “Mick had so many verses about so many women …” Mick asked Kimsey to edit down the 15-minute track to four minutes. “What verses do you want to use?” “Oh, you can pick ‘em.” I want to hear the unabridged version!

I love Bruce, but I’m finding it harder and harder to listen to him at length. A lot of self-awareness but, paradoxically, almost no humility left.

I haven’t heard the whole Stern interview yet, but Howard and Bruce talk about the Stones a number of times … they even talk about open-G tuning and Bruce played the SMU riff.

QuoteRocky Dijon Just because Keith pretends The Beatles used to call him to coordinate record releases so they didn't conflict with one another (that's right up there with Muddy Waters painting the ceiling at Chess because he had stopped topping the Hit Parade with Sinatra and Guy Lombardo) doesn't mean the world ever works like that. Bono doesn't coordinate venue dates with

QuoteIrix QuoteMelBelli What I’m saying is, I don’t think they’re randomly tweeting about a repackaged digital product three weeks after the fact for no good reason. QuoteProfessorWolf how do we know mick and keith haven't used many of ronnie's ideas over the years and just not given him credit he would be far from the first person they've done that to We can’t say for sure, obviously. But MJ and KR wrote in Barbados and brought songs to Ireland for VL. Ronnie was a mess during B2B; Waddy is all over that record as a result. And Keith bar

Keith championed Ronnie’s credits on DW, in part, because he thought Mick was being uppity for claiming sole authorship on some of those She’s the Boss songs. Ronnie has come to songwriting sessions with tapes of ideas as recently as 2002. My hunch is that Mick is the one who keeps Ronnie frozen out - judging from the apparent difficulty that Keith has in getting Mick to entertain his ideas!
