I have to say that the 1978 and 1981 tours were my favorites, even if they weren't always the pinnacle of the band's live playing; the shows of that era just had a super fun vibe to them... I think you're overestimating the uniqueness and quality of Hot Stuff. As DandelionPowderMan mentioned, it's more funk than disco, and there had been tons of funky stuff released by that time, including by major rock acts like Led Zeppelin (The Crunch,

I guess I have to say that the 1978 and 1981 tours were my favorites, even if they weren't always the pinnacle of the band's live playing; the shows of that era just had a super fun vibe to them. I know that LSTNT doesn't have the greatest sound but I think it does a great job of capturing

One of the first albums I listened to a lot as a kid in the sixties. Don't play it much anymore but it was an important album in the Stones' history, especially in the context of the Jagger-Richards songwriting machine.

When I listen to the Stones playing Blues, I get the same feeling like when I listen to Muddy Waters or Jimmy Reed. I don't really know what it is but somehow.... Well, I don't know. It probably is a matter of opinion. It's what Keith once referred

Quotecorriecas I got Black n Blue on my 16th Birthday, June 24 1976. Boy, i loved it then, and still do. Great album and great album cover too. Jeroen I was also 16 in 1976 and the release of a new Stones album was indeed an event! I also thought it was a great cover; it was the first time in quite awhile that a new Stones LP featured their faces so prominently and it was a great shot.
