I´ve always found it interesting how after the amp failure during JJF, Mick cleverly makes it look like playing the acousting songs was totally spontaneous and improvised ("Hope you don´t mind us playing that" ) even though they were a regular part of the setlist and performed every night. I also prefer the first Oakland show over the second one. In fact, I was never really a fan o

The best sounding and most complete version is the 1st gen. Pot Boiler is sourced from that so it should be the best out of the silver disc releases.

QuoteDear Doctor what songs are the new 3? Back in 2000, the new 3 tracks which were announced at first but scrapped later on were Sympathy, Stray Cat and Live With Me.

They explicitly mention that it has 3 more bonus tracks than the Criterion release so it looks like we´re really gonna get some new MSG´69 footage with this disc. Awesome!

Very, very sorry to hear this. I traded with him regularly years ago until the torrent scene started and he was always friendly and faithful. I believe he was an IORR regular, too.

ABB, despite the lousy sound/production and three or four filler tracks. An underrated album which I personally rate higher than Black And Blue and IORR.

The Stones didn´t decline, they were never asked to play there. Saying that the Stones despised the festival vibe of the time couldn´t be further from the truth. In fact, Woodstock was one of the main inspirations for the Stones to create their own "free festival" and we all know how that turned out...

QuoteBritney QuoteTornandfrayed Quotestraycat58 Has been compared with FEW HEARTS BROKEN and AIN'T NO ANGEL ON MAIN STREET? This is a different source recording. So there's two audience sources? Yes, there are two audience sources. This one and the more common "Ain´t No Angel On Main St." source. The latter sounds a tad better IMO but there isn´t really much difference b

Quotealimente My friend from TSP waits for a call from Mick because he has the original tapes... Copying it from an inferior boot is always an option, though! Musically, the Dallas rehearsals are mostly crap and I don´t think the Stones are planning to release two hours worth of tune-ups and endless noodling.

QuoteChrisM I just got this and the sound is much improved over the silver pressed CD a bought several years back. No more annoying skip on side 1! In listening to "Jumping Jack Flash" I noticed that the guitar solo on the outro sounds very much like Keith which surprised me as I don't remember hearing him on the other version I have and all other live versions from the tour that I

Quotemidnrambler More Soundboards from 1969 Great upload, midnrambler. Worth downloading for this version of Carol alone because the mix is much better than the released one on the album IMO.

Yes, there are two sources. The second source is for completists only. It sounds VERY distant, muffled and distorted, fair quality at best. The only reason the alt. source is worth having is it includes a pre-show soundcheck. It´s available on VGP´s "Second Incarnation" and in slightly better quality sourced from tape.

Thanks Erik. I hope this is a "real" upgrade and not just a remastered/EQ´ed version of the old acetate.

It looks like Chris removed the samples. Probably because he got flooded with e-mails asking him about the tape.

I knew this type of archive release would be possible now that the ABKCO and post ABKCO stuff are unified under the same enterprise (Universal) but I didn´t expect it would happen so fast. I won´t get my hopes up too much until we have more details but the expanded Ya-Ya´s and Exile could be incredible releases, a real dream come true. The Ya-Ya´s DVD could be the unreleased Maysles MSG foota

Sounds like a pretty raw soundboard source to me. The vocals are a tad too clear for an audience recording, I think.

Quotemickscarey France? Well, they finally got SOME of their senses back with a more conservative leader. That said, they still are the laziest people you can imagine what with their "expectations" of lifetimes jobs and their sophomoric protests when they are told they wil be laid off. Poor babies. On what are you basing this insulting, ignorant and polemical statement? Have you li
