Quotedcba Interesting! Is it better than the VGP or DAC CDs...? Matter of taste, I guess. The average listener will probably prefer the Millard source because it is more clearer. I personally prefer this one because the tape reflects the "dirtiness" of the music much better IMO. It has much more punch and the drums don´t sound like cardboard boxes as they do on the Millard tape.

Keith´s guitar strap got loose and the Tele fell on the floor at the end of Street Fighting Man letting it go out of tune. Thus he changed guitars in the middle of JJF. The video is from July 11th by the way. Quite possibly the worst JJF ever.

Thanks for sharing, I´ve never heard this recording before. Sounds almost as good as the alternate (i.e. original "classic" vinyl bootleg non-Millard) July 10th & 13th sources. It seems like there are still a lot of vinyl bootleg gems out there that have yet to be transferred to CD.

Quotesoulsurvivor1 If we are to get a complete MSG ABKCO would have to do a deal with the Maysales. And thats not likely. Why do you think so? I think it´s possible that Maysles and ABKCO finally managed to work something out. David Maysles has repeatedly mentioned that they have shot tons of ´69 concert footage in addition to what´s already in the Gimme Shelter movie and that he very muc

Quoterootsman Quotejohn lomax its not Taylor noodling - it is a Keith overdub. Is this a fact or a qualified guess? Any proof around? It´s a 100% Keith trademark in-your-face Chuck Berry style solo. Taylor simply doesn´t play like that.

Quotehbwriter Jesse Ed Davis was up there?? Any photos? Not at MSG. There are rumours that he played with them at one of the L.A. shows but they are probably false since this has never been confirmed and there is no evidence whatsoever.

Quoteelectricmud Sounds good what you guys telling here. Is there a chance to get or download the Seattle `75 show? Couldn`t find it on fantastic URBAN STEEL`s list. Thanx! An upgrade and the definitive version (transferred straight from the master tape) for this show has recently been uploaded on Dime. If you have an account you can get it here, there are still lots of seeders:

My all time favorite drummer. Ginger is one of a kind... I saw a Cream documentary a few months ago that had an interview with him filmed shortly after the 2005 MSG reunion shows. I couldn´t believe how mad he still is at Jack Bruce after all these years. He really hates the guy and it seems they came close to killing each other several times.

QuoteHis Majesty QuoteLOGIE I don't dispute the fact that technically, Led Zeppelin managed to achieve a great sound, but you know as well as I do that it would be impossible for one single guitar to produce anything like the onslaught that we hear in the two commercially available DVD releases. There's no overdubs on the Supershow or Danish TV Special from 1969. Yep. And n

I could do without the 30 minute drum solos, lousy keyboard solos and 30+ minute versions of Dazed & Confused, but apart from that, between 1969 and 1975, Zep were definitely one of the greatest and most powerful live rock bands in the world, only rivaled by the Stones and The Who. It must have been a real blast to see them in 1971, opening a show with Immigrant Song/Heartbreaker. The boo

QuoteHEILOOBAAS The wireless mike was not used during HTW, it was the mike stand. You´re right, it usually wasn´t used during HTW but if you listen to the Toronto 06/17 tape, you can hear that there are problems with Mick´s vocals during the beginning of the song and he cannot be heard until much later on. Maybe there were problems with the mike stand/wired mike and the wireless one was hande

This is one of my favorite performances of Brown Suger as well. It just sounds so raw and nasty. QuoteLieB I'm not convinced the recording is a soundboard because of the close clapping from very few people. Could be crew or people who just happened to be near the mike. But the whole recording is similar to the audience recording I have on CD. You´re right, it´s the same old audience rec

German news magazine "Der Spiegel" printed a story after the European leg of the Voodoo Lounge tour accusing the Stones (Charlie in particular IIRC) of miming playing their instruments during certain songs. Rock And A Hard Place was used as the main example in that article. The story was absolute crap from start to finish, obviously written by someone who had no clue about playing m
