I noticed a lot of people couldn't help including songs from ER (made in the 70s) in their list. If you would include Tattoo You, yes, then it would be possible. But you would end up with Tattoo You again. Maybe, instead of "Hang Fire" you could put "Tie You Up" and maybe add "Thief in the Night" or "Feel on Baby" to side B. Maybe. But if you

QuoteTops Feel on Baby is probobly my favourite song from Undercover. The album is really good but not as great as Tattoo You. It's their best reggae attempt, and together with Tie You Up, indeed one of their best songs on that album.

This solo is of the same order as that solo on King Bee, either the Stones' or the Slim Harpo version. All summarised with that old cliché: less is more.

1. Despite their similarity, why did you put "Running Too Deep" and "Will But You Won't" on the same album, one after the other? 2. Are there any bands that started in the 80's, or later that you really like, and why? Likewise, any new "music styles" that inspired you? 3. What do you think of Captain Beefheart, what of PIL, what of Nick Cave, and what

Perfection. And there's only one band in the world who can really play this well. (And obviously only one singer who can really sing it the way it should be sung, although I don't think the Bette Midler version is too bad).

Love it. One of the big surprises of Some Girls. And a perfect spot right after Beast Of Burden, another killer on that album.

A stupid joke. The one really bad song on Some Girls. Actually, when I think about Some Girls, I tend to even forget this song is on it. Mick is doing such a great job on that album, but he ruined this one with his over-the-top intent to try to be funny, hillbilly accent and all. He should have saved this for the yearly Christmas party at the Rolling Stones office with everybody to drunk to notic

Great opening song for Some Girls. Only the Stones could play this song the way they do: the way Mick sings it, the way the guitars sound, and of course Charlie and Bill connecting. And I happen to like the harmonic too, playing a very weird tune. It doesn't work as well live though. But the album version is great.

I am afraid I agree with the prognosis of HMS on this one. In order to have them create a really good album, on the level of their Magnificent Seven, they should do the following: 1) lock themselves up for at least 6 months, somewhere isolated without internet, radio, tv, discotheques 2) not invite anybody, no guest-players, no producers, no friendly actors, no journalists 3) play each

Instead of "6 New Mick & Keith Songs", more likely it will be 2 new Keith songs and 4 new Mick songs.

Weakest song on Some Girls, but since the rest of the album is so good, it sort of survives within that context (a bit like Hang Fire on Tattoo You).

Without the slow break, it would be an extreemly uninspired Stones by numbers rocker. With the slow break, it's just a terrible thing among a lot of other terrible things on Dirty Work.

This album has certainly grown on me a lot. Originally a bit disappointing after Talk Is Cheap, the album now works very well as a mood-setter. "999" --> GOOD/OKAY "Wicked as It Seems" --> FANTASTIC, One the best Stones/solo-Stones-member output of the last 30 years "Eileen" --> GOOD "Words of Wonder" --> GOOD "Y

The Stones often rather suck at reggae. Their only attempt at it that I like (very much) is Feel On Baby. And Keith's Words of Wonder is not bad either.

A great album. It's actually still growing on me. The only song I cannot stand on it is Faraway Eyes: People trying to be funny are never funny.

Coming to think of it, when I was young (in the 80s), there was a joke about this. Paul McCartney dies and goes to heaven. Saint Peter lets him in, and tells him: "I noticed you didn't do badly playing music down there, maybe you want to join our band in heaven?" He leads him the way, and shows the band, practicing: there's Jimi Hendrix on guitar and Keith Moon on drums, C

QuoteTurner68 You'll enjoy this... I don't know that I've ever read such a complete take down of a rock star before. Yes, that's fun. The thing which made me laugh most was the part about the Chili Peppers though, because the rest was well written but, let's face it, most people have already thought this since the 80s and I always completely agreed.

QuoteHMS The Stones may have never forgiven Bill for leaving, but you never forgave the Stones for hiring Darryl instead of breaking up, it seems. Good point, as the point made before by Turner68 that the Stones might value more a good feeling in the band than "the best virtuoso". I am guessing that people who want Bill Wyman (no virtuoso either, by the way) or Mick Taylor back, n

QuoteTurner68 you're forgetting about the footage captured in the movie "Gimme Shelter" from Altamont where Keith literally has to stop the song and point at MT and say (in the mike, so everyone could hear) "hey man, if that cat doesn't cool it, we're not going to play". although there may be other examples, it's the only one i can recall where they actua
