QuoteRocktiludrop Could this be the reason we got 18 songs. That was pretty bad. Sympathy solos though, have sounded like that on and off for years now. This is on the worse end of the spectrum however. If the band want to keep going for as long as they can, a third guitar player to beef up the sound might be a wise decision, wishful thinking, but Mick T could slot back in one would imag

I just recently picked up a copy in reasonable condition of the 'Unstoppable Stones', a compilation that was only released here and in Australia in 1965, so pretty happy with that. I also have a few bootlegs that are prized possessions.

If you want to talk 'recent' versions of JJF, Buenos Aires 1997 blows that out of the water. But it is to be expected, that was 24 (!) years ago. It's a good version when taken for what it is, but any version from '69, '70, '72, '73 etc are just on another planet. Once again, it's to be expected - they were young then, and not missing Charlie and Bill, n

Quotebakersfield I think it's hilarious that so many of us who spent years listening to crap bootlegs back in the day are now bitching about official releases that are in a different league. My go-to bootleg from the 82 tour was 'Never Stop' from Gothenburg. It sounds horrible now. Wembley is 100 x better. I was at Wembley on 25/6/82 and the recording sounds just like the gig di

I agree completely mate, well said. That said it will drop in price, then I may consider it. Tempted to pick up the 2LP version in the meantime but I think playing the waiting game is best.

Well after sampling some of the Wembley show via Spotify I am not so sure about springing for the Super Deluxe anymore. It sounds super thin, the drums in particular. Not much better than a standard 1981/82 SBD boot. Actually I had a boot of the Hampton show that I downloaded years ago which sounds 10x better than this release... Certainly not worth paying the extra $100+ for a book and an averag

Tempted to order the Super Deluxe vinyl but I think I will wait. That paid off with GHS, I got the super deluxe a couple of weeks ago for a very good price.

Damn he was one groovy mofo... The JGB live album which also features Nicky Hopkins is killer largely due to his low down, nasty grooves. RIP.

Just relax and enjoy the music. Sheesh. There guys have had a friendly rivalry for decades. It's only music guys, I don't get why fans feel the need to get so defensive about a band. McCartney and Jagger sure arent losing any sleep over it and I'm sure are having fun joking around about it.

QuoteCamRS It’s kind of funny to see people on various threads triggered over BS not being played for one show. Please explain how “the woke movement” is responsible for BS not being played last night? Other than an article in the Chicago Times before the 2019 tour, I can’t remember any real organized calls for the band the stop playing the song. Like others have said, for all we know, they’re

QuoteElmo Lewis Quoteerad Mick & Keith holding hands, dedicating the tour to Charlie. Man, that made me well up. A great, touching moment! And I got that feeling from a facebook livestream from all the way at the bottom of the world in NZ, can't imagine what it would have been like if one were actually in attendance. Anyway, as you said, it was a very touching moment and I'm

Ronnie definitely dyes his hair, I would wager he has plugs too. There is a line in a song on 'I Feel Like Playing', 'that's why I still dye my hair...'. He has given varying answers in interviews saying he doesn't dye it and it's just his gypsy genes, I'm not buying it, but hey, it's a cool story. So who can blame him

Quoteribbelchips I truly hope this isn't an attempt to make Stones songs 'woke' Because Fu*ck Woke! If not: Some words or phrases are 'Out of Time'(phun intended) nowadays of course. But to me it's just the Zeitgeist. And that has it's charm. Phones don't have rotary dials anymore for example, but we perfectly understand what Jagger means. And

No point in over-analysing what's left of a band that are close to 80, just enjoy it for what it is. Personally I'm gutted I will never get the chance to see them again, it's not viable to travel out of my country (NZ). I'm glad I got to see them with Charlie twice. I will say however these private shows for billionaires are kinda seedy and gross, the band has so much money

It's ok, listenable. Good on Mick for still releasing and writing music, lord knows he doesn't need to do it. I hear the Liar influence very prominently. I do love Grohl's drumming so that's a nice addition. Can't help but notice how brickwalled and compressed the sound is which is unfortunate.

QuoteStoneage Horrible. Almost a parody. And what about appearence? Taylor in suit and tie, Mayall in his undershirt sweating away, the drummer in some kind of ill-matched sports outfit. I say... Do you ever have anything positive to say? Must be exhausting being so crabby all the time.
