^ Great version, the jam before 'well ya heard...' has a Hyde Park '69 vibe going on. Ronnie rips it at the end as well, love how he breaks out the slide.

QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotestanlove I can't believe anyone is complaining about this song but not JJF or Brown Sugar which they can't perform well at all. When did they not perform JJF or BS well?? They're the homerun songs that always work And, no, I'm not talking about if there are a couple of bum notes in them. It's the drive and the energy

Indeed, really is great to see him focused on his playing instead of constantly hamming it up, although the trademark showmanship is still there.

Good to see all of the smoke coming from the crowd. Worried About You is one of my favourite Stones tracks, and they're nailing it. Ronnie's solos are much better on the recent versions than they were in '02-'03. I think the Les Paul has a lot to do with it, the thick tone just sounds so much better imo. Hope they play it in Auckland!

Quotemuffie I'd say the Stones threw him a bone so he'd cease TV appearances as a daggy relic doing old Stones tracks, diluting the Stones perpetually youthful brand. His limited appearance on stage may mean the Stones have little confidence in his current abilities. Could be related to MT's serious addictions, a battle KR has seemingly conquered. Maybe KR has some advice he can vo

Some of my favourite playing by our man Ron, he has just never really achieved that raw raunchy tone with the stones. www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8V-ZKcODB8

The solos hes been playing at the end of rambler recently are pretty sweet, hes finally managed to get a fat tone thanks to the les paul. No doubt taylors presence has been pushing him as well.

Quotevarilla Jimmy Rip, great guitarist. The Tele and the open G was too much though. Not necessary at all Maybe he just likes playing telecasters? I saw him with Television last year (great gig btw) and he played a tele the whole show.

QuoteDoomandGloom Quotestonehearted Reading through this thread makes me realize that in fact I was born too late and missed the last great Stones tour. Boy, that's just great. SH I've been seeing shows since 1974 in fact there is a fan in the movie "Almost Famous" who's loosely based on my exploits following Led Zep on a Northeastern tour. Zep knew me enough to let me

Quoteryanpow QuoteGazza [ Fantastic song. Like 'Miss You', a track which recorded to near perfection in it's studio incarnation, but which they havent quite captured as well in a live setting (although its always been a much more welcome addition to the show than 'Miss You') Agreed. I find this true for a lot of their songs actually. Not to say that they don'

A song I much prefer live, in fact I prefer most of the SG tracks live, they have more enenergy. The production on the album sounds quite stale to me.

QuoteMingSubu QuoteDandelionPowderman <The version they did of That's How Strong My Love Is from the 2003 tour was eye-wateringly magnificent.> Absolutely! It was back to 1965 + something I had never seen before. Simply magnificent Can this be found online? The Palais Royale version is on youtube under the Stones official channel I believe, it is excellent.

That is from the club show in Toronto in 2005 just before the start of the A Bigger Bang tour. It's also on the official boot from that concert which I find myself listening to surprisingly often. The vid can be found in much better quality on youtube.

One of my favourite tunes that Page & Plant did on the '95 tour, one of Plants solo tunes. This is a great version:

The Glastonbury soundboard is good. I love the versions of In The Evening from that tour with the Middle Eastern intro and the snippets of Carouselambra that they put in, worked seamlessly.

Yeah sounds like they just mucked it up and it takes a while to get into the song, still pretty cool though! I've actually got this show on vinyl. The New Barbarians set is pretty sweet as well, as rough and ready as it is.

The Led Zeppelin official forum is quite active, and they haven't really been an active band since 1980.
