early van halen live saw them in '79 open up for sabbath,they blew ozzy and co, away and it wasn't just eddie, back then david lee roth could hold his own with anyone live,but the booze, drugs,internal things ended it, but for a brief period in time, in my opinion van halen was the best live band on the planet.
