Jesus, we’ve reverted to “writing songs for The Stones using AI”??? Think I’ll step out of this now stupid, previously either desperate, funny or informative, thread for a few months.

Oh wow. Television were my first “out there” musical diversion from straight rock and roll (maybe not, I briefly loved Yes and King Crimson briefly, soon divorced!). I thought Verlaine an exceptional individual talent. RIP

QuoteSpud I think sometimes they just go with the songs that come together the easiest... and then at some point they say.. ".. right, fed up now, we've got enough." Really? If that was the case we should have had a few albums in the past 18 years instead of … none.

I ordered thru JPC in Germany. Their cost was ridiculously inexpensive considering the bulk and shipping to Australia. Locally I could have got it from AUD599 to AUD680, even quoted AUD800 from a small store here in PERTH. From a JPC - AUD$522. I’ve ordered thru them before without trouble. Though shipping takes forever!! Not expecting it for 2 or so months. But I have the black vinyl mon

A legend. A true legend of the music industry. His music will live on for all time. My favourites of his are CSNY and CSN records. Adore them. Particularly his contribution to the Stephen Stills’ track Dark Star on the actual CSN album. I think this is a seminal track. Just wonderful. Further proof, if any needed, that Time is Not on Our Side when it comes to The Stones releasing new material

Quoterollmops Will the new record be dedicated to Charlie? Rockandroll, Mops We’d know this, how? I personally don’t really care if they don’t even have a list of players, who played what. I’d like it. But don’t really care. What I want IS a new album. New original Stones music. Please.

QuoteMrEcho Quotewiredallnight Why should I buy vinyl records in mono? It's like buying a VHS cassette in black & white. Stereo for consumer use was first introduced in 1958. In the late 1950s and in the 1960s most LPs were usually released in separate mono and stereo versions. Singles were always in mono up until the late 1960s. In the late 1950s stereo LPs had a market share of well

Anything and EVERYTHING. That’s what I want. I’ll pick and choose the stuff to play. It’s not going to happen again. Why record, say, 20 tracks, Mick and Keith and Was argue endlessly about the 12-15 to release, and put the other 5-8 tracks on the shelf? The shelf life OF The Stones and us, let’s face it, is pretty short now. Imagine if Jeff Beck instead of Ronnie Wood had got the gig after t

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quoteliddas Have been listening to a lot of "recent" (VL + B2B + Lost Licks) outtakes recently. Most of the songs that didn't make the final set published on the album have at least one equivalent song in style that was published. Which one is better or worse is a matter of taste, but this is not the point. What strikes me is how many songs they have

QuoteSpud Are you also going to ask the Pope to re-write the Holy Mass ? Oh Jesus (pun intended). The Holy Mass can’t be re-written. It’s “Set in stone.. or tablets”, a Stones setlist CAN, and should be, mixed up (more than) a bit.

Quotetreaclefingers OK, and not to 'step up' for the artists, but if we're basically getting the music for free, how are they supposed to make money if not from the shows? And in a free economy no one is forced to buy tickets to a concert. Those with means do, and those that don't, get lucky dips! Spot on.

QuoteTheflyingDutchman IC : Now Mick Jagger will have to change the lyrics of at least a dozen of the Stone's repertoire, which I hope he doesn't. The Stones have a free-pass on such matters to me. Free pass on lyrics, not on such actions if such things ever came to light, I hope.
