A review from the man who claimed Charlie had left the band a few years ago. No mention in the above article- he should be made to publicly eat his words!

Great photos Charles. Another cracking show tonight. A few observations- Mick sang YCAGWYW and Satisfaction more laid back tonight, I think he didn't want to strain his voice? Mick Taylor was goofing around wearing a tambourine around his neck during Satisfaction and giving Keith big hugs at the end. Lots of good vibes and smiles on stage, especially from Keith. And Gimme Shelter, Miss

Getting very excited for tonight. The Stones always play well at Rod Laver and take risks with their set lists. It will be their 5th ever show there (and Jaggers 6th) so they'll be pretty comfortable. The Melbourne crowds are always the most enthusiastic too, which makes the band step up a notch. It should be pretty special.

You might not be able to get into the room where the bands play at the Corner Hotel, unless it's the end of the night. But you will be able to check out the front bar. Jaggers gig at The National Tennis Centre was broadcast on TV - I remember watching it as a child. There is also footage of his Corner Hotel show floating around on YouTube. And yes, Melbourne loves the Stones! The crowd

I believe they played the Palais again in 1966 as well? One of the tours was with Roy Orbison. Bob Dylan did 4 nights there this August - outstanding. But it needs millions of dollars of repairs and nobody knows where the money will come from. Also Jagger played at Rod Laver Arena (then called the National Tennis Centre) in 1988 and a secret show down the road at the Corner Hotel in Richmond

I think they have played all of these in Melbourne or Sydney on the Licks tour so I voted for the one they have never played in Oz - Just My Imagination!

Tim Ries and Bernard Fowler are playing Bennetts Lane jazz club on Thursday night. I wonder if Charlie will show up and play like he did in Perth back in March?

I would also strongly recommend a sun hat and long sleeve shirt for Saturday. Even 50+ Sunscreen won't completely protect you for a whole day in the Aussie sun.

Lucky Dip got me block 323 side view. If they have speakers pointing around that's better than way up the back. Person next to me got the same. I guessing most will be there!

Beautiful day here in Perth. Flew over on the red eye from Melbourne last night so am pretty tired. Checked out the awesome Dada Records and picked up a Muddy Waters Folk Singer and Gram Parsons sleepless nights CDs for cheap. A good start to the day. Now wish me luck on my lucky dip tickets!

QuoteRoyalHue I don't know if it's "special", but here's the poster I designed that was chosen for Adelaide. It's on the far right of the merch photo above. It didn't really get any exposure on any Stones social media outlet that I saw, they opted for highlighting the Oval Stadium one. Great design! I bought that one at the show over the other Adelaide one

QuoteMacnee2 Can anyone tell me of a better rendition live, of Wild Horses, since the iconic definitive 1976 Knebworth performance as seen on RollingStonesVEVO? More than one person has said the Adelaide performance is the best since Knebworth. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know, but Adelaide was my 14th Stones show in 15 years and I think that version of Wild Horses was

Quotemaumau Compare the repetitive setlists of the early seventies with today's is nonsense. they were in their heyday then, playing their latest, strongest stuff, in a catalogue that was not even 10 years old. That ended in 78. 81 was an added chapter to that but also a hint to what they could and would in fact be from 89 on. New songs were limited to a smaller part of the setlist and ba

Dimbag Darrel from Pantera was shot and killed while performing on stage. And wasn't Brian Jones knocked unconscious by stage invaders in Melbourne in 65 or 66?

QuoteEJM Quotejammingedward Karl played a good solo for Brown Sugar. Tim did the one in Miss You. No other solos that I remember, but I wish the horns were louder during Happy! That sounds a bit worrying - was keiths set ok ? Keith's set was good. But mick sang the best I'd ever heard him. Wild Horses was astonishing. No nasally overtones at all.

Karl played a good solo for Brown Sugar. Tim did the one in Miss You. No other solos that I remember, but I wish the horns were louder during Happy! Bobby Keys put out a facebook message letting everyone know he's doing ok. I saw it as I was walking to the oval and it lifted my spirits even more. I was 8th row near the catwalk on Ronnies side. So close. Even though it was my 14th show,

Can't believe no one has mentioned the HUGE stuff up at the beginning of Satisfaction! Keith missed the riff, looked like he was about to fall over, stopped and picked up a pair of glasses that he nearly slipped on! I think they belonged to the stage invader. Lucky for us he didn't fall. Imagine if the tour was postponed again! Anyway, bloody fantastic show!

I'm having my first beer of the tour looking out across the road at the oval. People with Stones merch bags around everywhere so the stores out front are open! Will head down soon to check it out.

A good selection of songs for a soundcheck- regular tunes, a ballad, one with Mick T, Keith's lead vox and Sympathy with the backing track and Charlie's headphones. See you all in 48 hours- we should all be hearing IORR about this time!

When Tim played the BS sax solo last time in Sydney (don't know where Bobby was?) it was not good at all. I'm guessing that the new guy will play Bobby's parts as he's a big fan who's got a rock n roll background.

Opening with Midnight Rambler at the Enmore BLEW MY MIND. Another opener I remember on the Licks tour was night 3 in Melbourne- Street Fighting Man and Jagger and Richards had a 'fight' on stage- Mick clearly gave Charlie the 'wind up' signal at the end of the song and Keith turned to Charlie, looked at him and kept chugging away. The whole concert had a weird vibe. The band
