Flip The Switch without Charlie’s drums? I can’t even imagine…… but who am I to complain?

I’m not one to tell them what to do, but years ago I said that the new album should have a few covers. A Muddy song, a Berry song and then I Can’t Turn You Loose. Imagine they actually finish an album, with only 10 songs, 3 of which are covers. Imagine the album ending with ICTYL. They’d come full circle ending a last album with that one. And then imagine a single farewell show in London on July

QuoteDoxa QuoteJumpingKentFlash Jagger should take some of my lyrics. I’ve written some good ones the past year. Sorry, Kent, that's not good enough. They need to be great... - Doxa Lol, ok I have a few great ones as well

QuoteDoxa QuoteProfessorWolf QuoteRe: New Stones album for 2021? new Posted by: ribbelchips () Date: September 9, 2021 16:20 Ghost Town was of course a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the pandemic. I wonder if the song would have made it to the album otherwise. But now they kinda have to add it smiling smiley When I hear it now, it's a b-side at best. But what is fair to exp

I’m still so sad about CW’s passing. It hurts and continues to do so.

QuoteFather Ted They didn’t stop after Brian died. He was a founding member who was replaced. The replacement was also later replaced. Yes, but doing the same when they’re close to 80 is a different matter entirely. They’re likely not touring into their 90s. No Charlie, no Stones. They’ve toured that mantra many times. It’s an amputated Rolling Stones we’re looking at here, but if I should fi

Quotemaumau QuoteJumpingKentFlash Somewhat agree with this, but as you say they’re old. And that is why I think they should have a chance to give a proper farewell. I second that, but one last concert could do it. a tour is a different story, and what will happen next year for the 60th anniversary? The 60th doesn’t really mean much at this point. As Keith said “People get confused about the z

Quotemaumau my take is that this should be the end, for a very specific reason they're not the young creative band fuelled by mick and keith creativity they were when brian died. It is not something comparable with that. They were a lively band with a future back then, they could shape the Rolling Stones with new music. And they did. Oh my, if they did. But for a long time now they have

I saw The Stones for the first time on July 29th, 1998 in Copenhagen. My dad had to drag me there almost. But I walked out a big fan and I wanted to learn much more about that guitar, that song, those drums etc. I was hooked. I finished 10th grade that summer, got my first girlfriend and lost my first girlfriend. My first real experience with heartbreak. She was in Copenhagen on vacation and we t

Quotewavelength It has been one decades long ego trip for Mick Jagger. When he couldn't make it on his own solo he fell back into the Rolling Stones fold. They guy is so self-centered and full of himself, He lives in the MJ bubble. KR goes into it in his book. I don't think he knows how to express empathy. When Bowie died the only thing he could think of saying when interviewed is somet

Well there’s different schools on this topic. - Quit now and cancel everything. - Do the US Tour and then quit. - Do the US Tour and Europe next year and then quit. - Keep going until everyone is gone. I’d prefer the US Tour in Charlie’s honour and then maybe a single gig in London next year, before calling it quits. It’d be cool to have a last gig, though the real last gig was Miami ‘19.

QuoteDoomandGloom Rediculous to do this tour and jump around like happy fools. They could do it in a more bluesy and somber way. Would be fitting.

I can only state my opinion. Do this US Tour in Charlie’s honour and then maybe a single indoor show in London early next year - After that, call it quits. The US Tour is unfinished business from last year. They’ll be able to honour CW there. And then a London show to get a proper ending.

It really flipping sucks to have Covid-19. The symptoms are still there, and a few new ones arrive every day. I lost my taste yesterday. We were eating lasagna for dinner and I couldn’t taste anything. I hope it goes away.

Bill is always very unpretentious, and a keeper of the Stones of old. He gives it to them straight, no filter. I love him for it. I never had the privilege to see him with the rest of the band, though it came close in London 2007.
