Well Claptons playing has become SO clean and polished to listen to. He was way better in Cream. Today he is the essense of the white man playing blues, and that's not a good thing IMO. The Stones can cut it because they sound black all the way. Like John Mayall. That's a good white blues. Clpaton's isn't.
