I think we're witnessing the removal of history or at the least heavy-duty airbrushing of it.

I've got (an) Edinburgh 99 which I was at. Think Sheryl's set on it too but it's not the best quality. Just keep it for posterity really. Got that and Wiltern Licks from a fleamarket for £10!

The beauty of Tattoo You is mainly down to Bob Clearmountain's mixing. Taking a bundle of recordings going back throughout a decade and making them sound like they were done in the same sessions. Tattoo You is pretty much The Stones' Odds and Sods.imo

I like it but always preferred the equally frantic I Wanna Be Your Man. That was a great opener in London a few years back.

You Were Never Really Here. Pretty brutal but a compelling, brooding performance from Joaquin Phoenix. You can see how it may have helped him get Joker gig. Movie has overtones of Taxi Driver. Currently on Netflix in UK.

RIP Steve. Sad thing about Glam was that it wasn't taken that seriously. Beneath the silly hats, make-up and glitter there were some pretty good bands. Slade were a fantastic band musically, lyrically and live. Jimmy Lea's bass playing was ace. Slade Alive remains one of my favourite albums. Get down and get wiv it!

I love it, admittedly not the best but I have great sentimental attachment to it as it was first tour I saw them on. Just the same way I love 'Let's Spend The Night Together', brilliantly filmed by the late Hal Ashby and captures the atmosphere and vastness of the shows. Fab Keith moments on it

Interesting piece on the cash-cow juggernaut industry the band (or brand) have become.

I was taking wife to George Benson in June and they've rescheduled for almost exactly a year down the road. Gimme back my money and I'll take a chance on getting another ticket nearer the time!

QuoteMaindefender Quoteiraq0708 QuoteStoneage It's okay, Maindefender. I guess you have to listen to it more than once for a fair decision. Youtube suggested this one for me and I fell into 80's nostalgia. Kirsty MacColl... She's on Dirty Work!! Ah, the 80’s. Terrible terrible tragedy. Married to a Steve Lillywhite also. There's the connection; Lillywhite produced

I'd guess the very first moment I saw them live and they came on stage. Glasgow Apollo 1982. I was sick with excitement. Nothing has ever quite equalled that moment. Musically, I'd say Can't You Hear Me Knocking at The SECC Glasgow on the Licks Tour.

Bill was great in and for The Stones but it's a tad disingenuous to Daryl to call for Bill's return (imo). Daryl's given 26 years of good service now and I'm happy with that. Anyway with or without Bill I doubt they'd get this purported new album out any quicker

Quotefrankotero I took a break at 90 minutes. After that I was completely engaged for the rest. No matter how great I can't imagine sitting that long for anything. Like sitting waiting for the next Stones album
