In regards to the amp: This was early 90's so probably some sort of stock tube amp you'd find in any of the old Nashville studios. Probably a tube with only one volume control rather than a separate gain knob stage.

I have to think he’s got recorded material out there. I’m not sure why he couldn’t use some of the tracks recorded and sort of do a “Plundered My Soul” approach by maybe having some of his unreleased solo album’s keyboards/drums re-recorded to not sound so 80’s. I think he was in Nashville a lot in the early 90’s with Carla Olson, so maybe there is some of his own stuff recorded during that pe

I've always loved that Pacific Tour, Benefit Concert included. It's really cool to hear them play that old stuff: "Definitely Vintage"!

For those of you talking about Taylor's post-Stones career: I have read and heard that he battled addiction on and off for many years. I don't think his lack of production came from not caring or not having material, I just think he was not in a great state and could not or did not want to create music. I always hoped Taylor recorded an album of blues or roots music like Clapton did

I always took it as red wine in her glass. Jagger loves wine haha Also, Jimmy, is Jimmy Miller, not Jimi Hendrix. Jagger said he played his new song to Miller and he loved it.

Quotempj200 Mick has always been fantastic on his solos. It’s his riffs (or lack of) where he gets lost. But he’s a sweet guy and I hope the best for him. Quotekeithsman Quotez Am I the only one who think Taylor wasn't very good on 50 & counting/14 on fire? I guess joining in for a song or two in the middle of a show is not so easy, but most of his solos sounded too technical and uni

The worst part about the debate is it devalues Taylor’s unique rhythm chops and Wood’s unpredictable leads. Of course, Wood has a much much larger body of work with the Stones, so it’s really not fair to begin with. If Wood only played in the Stones from 95-2000, nobody would care about him at all.

QuoteStoneage Epigonism (noun): an artistic or literary imitation of an artist by a later generation. A detour from this word is perhaps the phrase "white man's blues". Or a modern detour: Cultural appropriation. Common among the identity left. Hence the slang term "wigger". Mostly linked to hip hop and reggae though. My problem with that is it’s like saying only whit

QuoteToru A Quoteloog droog Interesting to see Paul Rodgers talking to Charlie. Was Free recording in Jamaica that year? Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke were staying there for the recording. Wasn’t Bad Company trying to recruit Mick Taylor around this time? I wish he would have taken that gig.

QuoteTheflyingDutchman QuoteTravelinMan Even "the Bible" Timeisonourside has Taylor listed on the second acoustic guitar. Timeisonourside is not the Bible in Stones-Context, it's the bible for certain people that believe Keith Richards can play the guitar like John McLaughlin. No pun intended.

QuoteTravelinMan How did Mick Taylor get bumped out of the credits on this one? Andy Johns said the music was all recorded at the same time, and the instrumental backing track proves that. So did Richards play two guitars at once? Even "the Bible" Timeisonourside has Taylor listed on the second acoustic guitar. Remember, the music was recorded in 1970 during the Sticky Fingers era

QuoteOpenG So if this is Taylor on those trailer clips and he is playing that style maybe he had more input on Traveling man and jivin sister then we thought with stones Mick Taylor is Traveling Man! Anyway, I had no idea his former brother in law was a major music producer. What could have been, Mr. Taylor! Anyway, anyway, the album sounds pretty good and I will be getting it. It reminds

I tend to think two guitars meandering over one another in hopes of some sort of magical counterpoint is a wank fest.

If I recall, Taylor said he and Richards wrote Seperately in France. So maybe they decided to record it in Jamaica? That would make sense because Hopkins was there in Jamaica as well. It also surprises me to see Hopkins play on Star. Would have expected Stewart on that number.

I agree, it’s death (Grim Reaper); 99% of the references have to do with death and dying. I think the reviewers at the time confused everyone with their incorrect take.

I think Jagger goes all out on Dancing With Mr. D. The execution (pardon the pun) is perfect on that song, it seems some people just don’t like the lyrics. To me it’s a swampy voodoo acid trip and I love it. I love the alternate take and the live versions as well. Whatever that effect is on Taylor’s guitar gives it an eerie feeling. Could have been a pedal at the studio, it sounds like a phase

I always interpreted Mr. D as Death, like the Grim Reaper. I agree it’s a good opening song for the Goat’s Head/Jamaican theme. I love Winter. One of my favorite ballads. I’m not a huge fan of Hear the Music. It kind of sounds like they just wanted to experiment with a bunch of instruments, and I don’t understand the message they’re going for. I’d have polished Criss Cross or Travelin M
