Quotestonesrule Father Ted, hope you will post lots about your thoughts at the Olympics. Glad you'll be there! Re Wimbledon, I would not be suprised if David Ferrer wins. Anyone but Djokovic. Love Tsonga. He's got some great moves when he's really on. Ferrer on grass? Ain't gonna happen! Roger having to put up a huge fight right now - was two sets down to Julien Be

Quotemtaylor A question: - How many times can you hear / listen to the same thing? These radio / TV programs don't bring anything new - mostly repeat the same old same old thing. It is the 50'th year anniversary, but still.... don't kill the event with repating the same story. Then don't bloody listen to it. Someone was just trying to be helpful and informative by telling

Quote24FPS You are allowed to like Alabama Shakes (though they're a bit retro for me) and Jack White. It's not either/or. But if you only like Alabama Shakes you absolutely MUST make up some thing about how they don't like Jack White/don't want to work with him.

Would love to attend any event cause I'm a massive tennis fan. I just hope against hope that we don't get another god-awful Nadal vs Djokovic final but with the courts looking to be slower yet again, it's hard to bet against it. Defense wins the day again. Holding out some hope for Roger to pull out some vintage performances though. He was impressive today and looked to get in t

Quotecarlitosbaez Ask Loretta and Wanda Jackson about those records, they don't say same things about that. For example Alabama Shakes, Jack White saw them and wanted record with them, they say no, just one single, why? You are aware that they are signed to his Third Man label???

QuoteStonesTod i just hope someone with foresight kept that let it bleed cake in the freezer for just such an occasion. I'm sure they could call up Delia Smith easily enough. (She's a well known TV chef and writer on the UK who actually made the original cake before becoming famous.)

Quoteszef QuoteSoulPlunderer Very high quality tournament so far. Not many poor matches and almost all of the teams have looked competitive (ahem, Ireland). The Euros tend to be better than the World Cup. Unfortunately money is the most important thing so in France we will have 24 teams. Quality won't be so high anymore. So far for me this is the best tournament since Euro 2000. The 200

I actually think Spain will be happier to ply France than England. France aren't as good as they are hyped up to be and are likely to attempt to play Spain at their own game - they've certainly tried to tika-ta

The stats I heard placed less than 50% of sales as being down to the ticket tie-in. Madonna tends to play lots of her new songs during concerts though so it makes sense to allow the audience to be familiar with them whether they are counted or not. There have been a few varying reports some saying that the CD was free with the ticket and some suggesting that it cost a bit extra.

Quotethewatchman QuoteMore Hot Rocks Sean and Julian? Really? Yes, I am dead serious about this. It would be a fantastic way to kick off the Olympics. Paul is a decent fellow. Why would he not want to share the stage with Ringo and the "kids". I love Paul but he owes a great deal of his success to the magic of the Beatles. If he hadn't played in the Beatles there is no way he wou

I had thought SH was DOA given the lack of sales and seeming lack of interest on the part of MJ to do any proper promo or shows. I had thought they would have been a no-brainer for the Grammy's (last sept) so am surprised to hear they were approached and said no. I wonder why the 'shyness' a

Quotegeorgelicks QuoteThe GR Superheavy peaked at 24 in the UK chart. It peaked at #13 actually. We're talking an album here rather than a single for SuperHeavy. All the Stones studio albums have went into the top ten of the albums chart and the Exile reissue was number one 20 or so months ago.

Quotesweetcharmedlife QuoteMore Hot Rocks Just a thought. What if Keith gave the finger. What would people on this board think? I would think it would be a stupid thing to do. But he was on the Super Bowl and didn't do it. Which makes him instantly classier than the idiot MIA. He DID write a book that contained an extract mocking his best friend's penis though. Classy indeed...

QuoteGazza Quotetreaclefingers Quoterebelrebel I fully realise that there's no convincing those who hate her in the first place but it's just not true to say she always mimes. Specifically at the Superbowl, the whole of Like A Prayer was live, most of Vogue was live and at least some of Music. I would agree it sounds like pretty much all of the new single was mimed. As for saying she

QuoteFather Ted QuoteMarkdog QuoteMore Hot Rocks Its all about being entertained. She did just that. Watching pretend singing is not entertaining to real music lovers. But for those that don't care, I don't understand. You answered your own question - Madonna in her 2012 guise is for people who are undiscerning about music. She is decades past her use-by date as far as creativity

Quote24FPS Another low rent colored girl representing her president. (quote) GADAWG Well, it's good to see 1950s Alabama represented. Do you even know who her President is? Her President? Isn't she English? On the performance, I don't see any problem with it. It was a bit of fun and, while she didn't always sing live, the acrobatics were impressive especially consideri

Yeah, sure, someone can REMEMBER the music when it happened, but you still had to wait ten years to hear real rock. It's in our subconscience. We also have the greatest capacity to accept alternative
