QuotePs37 Quote24FPS But we know all about his musical talents. What don't we know about a guy that died at age 27 by now? That he had a smashing stamp collection? Seems like this could be said about almost any figure who is the subject of a documentary. I'd think if a proposed documentary is if no interest to me, I simply wouldn't watch it. Believe me, I would love a REAL

Remember the weird almost circus act that appeared ab

Quotekovach Quotemickschix Good, because his song does NOT sound like Marvin Gaye's tune! As Sheeran said, it is common to use the same chord progression as another song...ya think, seeing as how there are MILLIONS OF SONGS on record! Agree 100%. Now that other song a few years ago, "Blurred Lines" soon as I heard it I thought, what does this sound like, is this a remake?? T

Quotetreaclefingers QuoteJavadave Like Rolling Stone magazine, it’s all become a sad joke, a pallid and shallow facsimile of its’ original mission. Yeah, that is actually sadder, Rolling Stone magazine. That used to be great...culturally iconic even. Actually what's happened is that after Jan Wenner left it became a magazine concerned with hip hop and up and coming groups. They're

None of them are as big as Jethro Tull was. What the hell did that group do to piss off someone in the HOF? When did Missy Elliot become more rock and roll than Jethro Tull?

I'm not as worried about getting an album in the fall, as I am about no new product until then. There's been no noise or whispers about a vault release. If there is going to be some kind of summer release, we should hear about it soon.

I wonder they've never played Jumping Jack Flash, or Satisfaction for that matter, and Under My Thumb, like their studio versions? The stage production of these songs are too fast, too rock and roll. Satisfaction is usually played like they're trying to get through it fast as possible. There's no jazz swish on UMT like there is on the record between Brian on marimba, Bill's ba

QuoteProfessorWolf Quote24FPS Did they record anything decently live in '66 or '67? And are short setlists basically the same? They weren't prone to throw in a 'rarity' or two, so the setlists didn't vary. Honolulu '66 has only 8 cuts, delivered at blazing speed. That's about 20 minutes, not enough for a release. They'd have to flesh it out with someth

I don't know. I keep hoping they recorded it professionally and we'll be pleasantly shocked, like when we got L.A. Forum '75 and it blew away all the really crap bootlegs.

QuoteMelBelli Maybe it was supposed to be a secret, but, according to Tom Bukovak, who’s playing in the house band, Keith is going to be there: It reminded me when the Stones played the Hollywood Bowl in 2005. He said, "The last time we played here was 1966. The setlist hasn't changed much."

The cheapest seat is $300 for one night. Too rich for my blood. I saw him at the Hollywood Bowl with a 40 piece orchestra. I don't think he ever did there anywhere else. A magical night. I'm hoping they film/video this for a commercial release. They did it for a Jeff Beck concert a couple years back and it's fantastic.

But, is anyone arguing that they put out a top notch original album since 1981? I would say they've put out TWO top notch albums since 1981!!!! Both easily in my Top 10 of their output. Well I think Undercover and Steel Wheels are top notch, and Voodoo Lounge/B2

When you die at 27, leave behind what? 29 songs? and it's not easy to find people who knew you, there's not a lot to say. There's big patches of unknown. Yes, the book would have to be more about the mentally ill author, because there just isn't that much known about the subject.

Quotespunky Paris 1976 and Knebworth 1976 That's got to be it. One or the other. I doubt they'd do a double release. They just released a 'recent' one in the NYC DVD. What other choices do they have? They just released 2012. They've released 94, 98, 99. After 2003 it gets real repetitive, and you start getting into fiji tree territory.

They've got to release something. They always do. Do you think they'll go silent until 2024? Maybe Mick will get out there and appear with somebody else. Scrape the vault. There's still Abbatoir and Knebworth from '76. Unreleased 1972 live album. Get something like that out there. Keith and Mick will do new interviews and tease the new album and tour. It's worked for 60 y

Quotetreaclefingers Is it too early to revive the "Sons of Stones" replacement theory? Stephen Wyman retired from the group, and refuses to return. They considered expanding it to "And Daughters Too", but Chloe and Emma Taylor can't be found, and Seraphina Watts only wants to play to Charlie Parker records. Brian's five illegitimate children have no interest. That

I would imagine the Stones, as always, control what is played. They also don't care for overexposure. Everything they do has a reason, promoting a tour, a new release. You know they're not going to dump a new album in the middle of the night. There'll be new interviews with Keith and Mick. They'll talk about Charlie, the cuts he's on, and how it's different working w

Can't disagree more. Undercover is one of their worst, and Dirty Work is no treat. Babylon sounds dated. Between the Buttons is slight, compared to their other sixties work. And of course Satanic Majesties is a bit of trainwreck, with some redeeming tracks. If they do release a new album they will have passed many legends on longevity, including the imperial Duke Ellington. Of course he p

Good question. Ya Yas. Still Life. El Mocambo. Even Flashpoint's got a couple decent tracks. (Factory Girl for one). And yes, Brussels. I don't remember if they played live tracks when the Stones had a dedicated Sirius channel around the time of a U.S. tour. Maybe those programming it put little faith in the average fan caring for anything other than studio cuts.

Just release it. They got nothing else. They don't have to run out and promote it to sell vinyl discs, where the real money was. If some member of the group is in lesser physical shape, it can be hidden in a video or two. And if a tour doesn't happen immediately, so what? If there are any standout tracks, it will be new to audiences. Yes, another greatest hits package, or recent liv

QuoteNilsHolgersson Yes, after they replaced Charlie I think Ronnie is definitely replaceable. I always thought they could easily swap him for Jeff Beck since they looked almost identical. Well, not anymore ofcourse. But it would look a bit sad.. just Mick & Keith and touring band members.. but people would still buy tickets for the shows. It's still "The Rolling Stones". Y
