Quotemelvin I have the 4 Reels version of this movie. the quality is pretty good. Is the new release visually that much better. I understand the audio is a huge upgrade over previous bootleg releases. But what about the visual quality. Is it a huge upgrade, too? Yeah, I have the 4 Reels one also and I just got my Amazon pre-order this morning. I'm IMPRESSED - the official release sou

PERFECT 69boogie !!! Spot on !! - lol !!! Anyway, here's my new place. Just bought it a few months ago but already finding it rather boring. (plus the upkeep is a BITCH !!!) Quotewhitem8 Well yeah BA is pretty shitty. But man, do US carriers blow!!!!! After traveling for over 17 years using US carriers and comparing them with a few European carriers, several Asian carriers, and many middle eastern carriers. The US carriers are uniformly TERRIBLE! I don't know whitem8, here's one of our "sort of typical" US flight attendants and, OK, I know, she

Jeroen, I'm not really moaning and Wyman doesn't really matter to me BUT... having seen the Stones many times in the late sixties (69) and early 70's (2 shows in 72, benefit show at the Forum in LA, January 1973) it would be great to get Mick Taylor back. Ronnie can stay on stage to (no beating up women though - that one really bugged me, lost a lot of respect for the guy). Mick Ta

The new Rolling Stone magazine with PRESIDENT OBAMA on the cover (came in the mail/post today) has a one page interview with Ronnie Wood. The interviewer says the Stones seem to tour every 3 years like clockwork and it's been 3 years so... (What's up)? Ronnie Wood answers with; "Yeah, we're due for our summit meeting, where we all sit around a table and bullshit.... Everyo

QuoteLorenz it's quite good, but very generic rock - it doesn't grow on you, it sounds great to hear the songs once, but they are all a bit shallow (songwriting) and simple. Nothing you can discover in there. That's at least my impression Listening to samples on Amazon, I think it's not "quite good" (more like O.K., not horrible). I have to agree with Lorenz. Woody

Very Rare to hear the singer put down the city (Pittsburg, Pa) they're playing in front of at the moment (then, minutes later praise it and have joints thrown up on stage during the entire hubbubaloo). Eddie dedicates the next song to the Stones and "Here's to Keith" at the end. A beautiful version of WAITING ON A FRIEND is sandwiched in between. Pearl Jam, one of the best, tr

Yeah Yeah, we want More More Michael Moore - a very talented Dude and Sage. I think he would go lenient (but truthful as always) with the Stones. Maybe even bring back Mick T for the last tour - that would be super cool, that would be beyond big time rockin' - count me in....

I agree LeonidP, it would be nice to hear the Stones do a few of the better solo Mick and Keith songs (like "Mother Of A Man" for example). I have a boot with a STONES work-in-progress version of LONELY AT THE TOP, which Mick opened his LIVE AID show with in 1985. It was left off of the LIVE AID DVD Box Set unfortunately. Instead, having that historical performance start with what was t

The Jag's in tip top performing shape at Webster Hall in NYC in this one off concert for his WANDERING SPIRIT CD. Unfortunately, the Band Pales in comparison (IMHO) to Keith, Charlie, Bill, and Ronnie/Mick T. but still great songs.... BTW, If I recall, MOTHER OF A MAN was written about the LA riots of April/May 1992 ("Rodney King's police brutality trial" - police found no

I always felt Keith's head injury and surgery was a much more serious situation than was ever made known to the fans and general public. ANYTIME you perform surgery on the brain putting a hole (or holes) in the skull it's a heavy duty operation. He was probably on all kinds of medication during the last leg (European) of the tour (hence the off nights that were talked about so much on t

QuoteSwayStones THE END/CROSSROADS (Live at the ISLE OF WIGHT MUSIC FESTIVAL, August 1970) I've never seen this one ,wow!* But can you tell me if the soundboard also comes from the Isle of Wight ? Excellent performance, should have been on one of the official DVD's - WILD CHILD Live THE END/CROSSROADS (Live at the ISLE OF WIGHT MUSIC FESTIVAL, August 1970) THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW (Audio Only - Morrison W/O The Doors). Perry Farrell's Satellite Party provide the trippy/spooky music. A Great Job I do believe. Great song... WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I just found this totally UNBELIEVABLE!!! (well, maybe not so much these days). EVERY TIME Jagger flies into the USA he is taken out of the immigration line and put in a "special interrogation room" (Winston's room 101?) and put through the drill over his marijuana conviction back in England 40 something years ago - SAY WHAT !?!?!? This would be slightly funny (in a weird sort o

That DVD has a lot of problems. First Half - Jagger's vocals much too low. Second Half - Jagger's vocals SLIGHTLY too loud (compared to the band). Don't know who worked the sound mix but they must have been high as a kite and hope The Stones fired him). Camera work/editing not so great. Not the best night (by far) from the 5 night stand at the LA Forum. The last show was kick ass.

QuoteCindyC Happy birthday Robert! I have never claimed to love Led Zep, but I like a decent amount of it. Coincidentally, when my ex was dropping my 9 year old son off this morning, as soon as I opened the door he said "go ahead, ask her". My son indignantly says "The lead singer from Led Zeppelin is a girl, dad keeps telling me it isn't, but it sounds like a girl&qu

Quotedcba "75 was a strange year because we had, in America, the STONES and ZEPPELIN touring right about the same time" Bootlegs prove the Stones did a much much better job overall. Apart from a few shows (the 17-21 March run of gigs and a some others) LZ was disappointing that year. Well dcba, I went to 2 1975 Stones shows at the LA Forum (first and last night) and 2 of the Zeppel

ROBERT ANTHONY PLANT, born AUGUST 20th (just like someone else around here ) A great singer and a man who's still standing (and Rockin') after suffering very deep loses. His very young son Karac died in 1977, at the age of 5, from a pretty sudden, deadly virus while the band was touring America. About 2 years earlier Robert and his then wife Maureen were involved in a horrible car acci
